My daughter is a resident at University Village in Greensboro, NC, and our experience with the management team has been extremely disappointing.
On May 22, my daughter called the leasing office to ask about transferring to a different room. She was told her request would be noted. She then went into the office on June 1 to ask again about the transfer and was given the same information—that her request would be added to her profile. At no point during either interaction was she told that she needed to sign a new lease in order to be eligible for a room transfer. Had she been informed, she would have signed the lease immediately.
Now, on August 1, she was told that she cannot transfer because she did not sign a new lease. This was frustrating because she was never given that information despite asking about the process twice.
On August 3 at approximately 10:30 a.m., I spoke with the property manager, Andrew, hoping to understand what happened and see if there was a solution. Unfortunately, the conversation left me feeling dismissed rather than helped. Instead of acknowledging that there may have been a communication breakdown, he repeatedly questioned our account of what happened and stated that he didn’t understand why my daughter would have been the only person given incorrect information. That response made us feel as though our honesty was being questioned.
If the office reviewed the phone call from May 22 or the security footage from June 1 showing my daughter visiting the office, and calling the office they would see that she made every effort to follow the proper process. She thought was correct. The issue was never that she refused to sign a lease—it was that she was never told she needed to.
When I asked to speak with the regional manager, Andrew provided the name Amanda Mills but stated it would likely be three to four weeks before she would even be able to return my call. There was no sense of urgency, empathy, or concern for resolving the issue. Rather than trying to help or acknowledge the miscommunication, the attitude we received was essentially, “There’s nothing I can do.” I just wanted them to take ownership.
Everyone makes mistakes, and I understand that. What was most disappointing was the lack of accountability, professionalism, and customer service. A simple acknowledgment of the miscommunication and an effort to help would have gone a long way. Instead, we were left feeling ignored, blamed, and unimportant.

Complex is not worth the money at all. I pay almost the price i could
pay to live alone and the amenities are worthless. The pool has been closed more times this summer than I can count. the parking is horrible. the front desk service is horrible and nasty and rude. the safety is horrible the apartment structure is horrible. They will show you a show room yet it will look nothing like what you move into. the carpet is cheap and lifts easily. they paint over mold the sink is caked up and spills out mold frequently. the cabinets have been falling off for over a year. During the hottest week of the summer our apartment AC was locked on 80 degrees inside the room. it took them three days to handle that like it wasent already 99+ degrees outside. on top of that this is supposed to be a gated as safe community yet there are holes all in the gates where homeless people and kids come through. my packages have been stolen countless times. even when you tell the delivery ppl to put it in the lockers in the mail room gues what!!!! they throw our packages on the floor in the corner of the mail room so everyone can have a free for all. on top of that your door dash will most definitely be stolen and your cars will be broke into. my boyfriends windows have been busted my car has been broken into twice. yet they just decided to get half ass cameras for the complex AFTER everyone’s cars got broken into. Also last but not least. because of the area there is always ample amount of kids walking thru the complex at night with very large guns. i should not fear my life in a place I PAY TO STAY in. Uv needs to do so much better

The parking is horrible. There is never enough parking. After 5’clock you aren’t getting anything. I am a college student who also works, so when I come home and I’m driving around trying to find one close to my unit I can’t. I end up having to park near the office and walk 5 minutes to my building every day. Yall need to consider doing something, especially now that it’s getting late and I don’t wanna walk in the dark to my apartment scared something might happen.

Please read this. Do not live here. It may seem great at first but it’s terrible and they’re charging you and your roommate combined like 1900-2000 a month for a small, dirty, broken place. I stayed here 3 long monotonous years, there was always something wrong. i’m not just complaining, you will regret it. It didn’t used to be this bad but each year is getting worse with them. every single year.
First year, upstairs neighbor had a pet snake get loose, a huge domestic abuse situation to the point where my roommates light busted and glass went everywhere in our apartment bc there was an extremely loud hit to the floor above us.
2nd year I was sick with covid my mom came to drop off my medicine and check my temp. it took 3 minutes to do this. went outside her car was gone, and she had her hazards on. imagine if that was a delivery driver. they are sick people.
3rd year they added random charges for absolutely anything, little services that we don’t even have access to. and when i asked about it they said because in the lease we have the right to add as many charges as we want for the year. that’s a disgusting practice to do to college students who are struggling.
all these good reviews you’re seeing is because they have little clubhouse activities and entries where they bribe you for a good review. if you enter a good review they say you could win 500 or something like a grocery bundle. it’s sick. this place isn’t good with pairing people and it’s horrible management. There is another place out there for you I promise. This place is easy to get in for a reason.
