Great starter apartment for a reasonable price, in a nice part of Greensboro. Feels safe, family oriented and staff is very friendly. Maintenance is amazing, extremely fast turn arounds and great service. They even completely replaced our units full carpet when we first moved in because we complained of a smell. They seriously are great. The management takes really good care of the buildings and landscaping. There are landscapers here once a week making sure everything is in great condition (which I appreciate).
However, there are a couple of things I wish I knew before moving in. As mentioned in a previous review, the gates barely work. They are constantly open, and or one works and the other one is broken. This defeats the entire purpose of a gate. We also had to pay a gate fee, which doesn't make much sense if the gates never actually work.
Along the side of the complex, there is a dead end road, apart of Jessup Grove Rd. There are about 3-4 complexes that back up to this road (mine is one of them). There have been more times than I can count where I have seen some pretty sketchy stuff happening, such as people sleeping in their cars and engaging in illegal activity. I refuse to walk on this road by myself, especially at night. Another thing about this side road is it makes outside people getting into the complex extremely easy. They are able to park their car and wonder on in, as if they live here. Why call it a gated community when your gates don't work, and it's not even fully gated the entire way around?
Lastly, the amount of children in the complex is unfathomable. This makes for an extremely family friendly complex, where families thrive, however I am in my 20's and have no interest in screaming kids, children running out in front of cars constantly and teenagers riding motorbikes on sidewalks; They are literally everywhere all of the time. I am not trying to sound like a grouch, however it is simply the case. I understand this has nothing to do with the management, or complex itself, and they can do nothing about this. However, if I would have known about the amount of children in the complex, I would have not moved here just for the simple fact that this is not what I was looking for. Just trying to give a heads up to potential renters looking into the property.
Overall, a good place to live starting out with a few things to keep in mind when deciding if this place is a good fit for your lifestyle.
