  The reality of living at this apartment complex isn't great. I lived at Southpoint Crossing for one year. Here are my main issues with this apartment complex. 1. Gate At Southpoint Crossing, there are two gated entrances on completely opposite sides of the complex. One is visitor accessible if you know the code, and one is not (only has a FAB scanner to enter). For the visitor accessible entrance, there is an extremely outdated gate code system that many people, especially visitors, have trouble with. Nearly every day, there is a line of 2-3 cars because people either don't know or incorrectly input the gate code. I give people some time to try and open the gate, but almost always I have to get out of my car, walk up to the FAB scanner, and open the gate. I understand the purpose of having a gate, but the specific visitor gate code system Southpoint Crossing currently uses is obsolete. It also just takes way too long and can be frustrating to be stuck in a line of cars when home is literally in sight. If you enter the code wrong, it is very difficult to reset the system and re-enter it. I just ask the visitor gate code system be updated. 2. Window "View" from my bedroom Shortly after moving into my 3-bedroom apartment, I realized I could barely see out my window. Apparently, there was condensation between the glass panels and a contractor was called to replace them. I checked in with the front desk multiple times about the status, and it took a total of 3 months to get this fixed. Never once was I offered reimbursement or a credit for the window issue. Because when you come down to it, not being able to see out of your window should bring down the value of your unit. 3. Apartment cleanliness Air filter After two months of living here, I checked the air filter, and it was beyond disgusting. The filter had completely decayed, and there was so much dirt trapped. There is no way the filter was replaced prior to moving in (May). Black mold After moving in I noticed there was a massive amount of black mold right underneath the rim in the toilet bowl.
