Toured and applied for a two bedroom apartment at Retreat at RTP, submitted all the requested information, but after two weeks no one has reached out.
After a week I had called and a member of the office staff said someone else was working on my lease and would reach out, but another week goes by and still nothing. The week after I call and am told that only the property manager is able to help, but they aren’t there at that time, and they would call me back. Never got a call back .
Be aware, if the office gets too busy there is a chance they will ghost you but they’ll happily keep your $325 application fee.

Thaddeus from maintenance was SO helpful today!! We had some difficultly with mildew on the windows and a sewage smell coming from our kitchen sink. He came in and took care of it all and was so friendly, offering great tips and going above and beyond! He even brought over a dehumidifier for us to borrow to keep some of the moisture at bay. He has been very helpful and we are so appreciative!!

Things you should know before signing a lease here. I’ve lived here for over 3 years. They are constantly changing something from management, valet trash companies, late fee and eviction policies etc.
Ask about the construction and noise before you sign a lease. They should have informed people that had to renew their lease this year about the upcoming construction that will be going on for the next year. They failed to do so knowing that people would choose not to sign a new lease. I work from home and it has caused a major disturbance I have not been able to stay in my own apartment.
The dog park is not an amenity as there’s a portapotty positioned right by the door. No one has been able to use it. They all have been using the back of my apartment building without picking up after their dogs.
They start the eviction process for late rent on the 10th. This policy has changed from last year. Screenshots provided.
If you leave your trash can outside they charge a fee of $50. But they don’t care that the valet trash company misses days.
There are no visitor parking spaces in front of most apartment buildings. Visitor parking is located in the middle of the neighborhood. Your visitors will need to walk or be picked up by you.
If one resident breaks a rule at the pool they take it out on all of us by closing the pool down.
I am not using my real name because they have been known to retaliate against renters that speak up.

I just renewed my lease to start my 4th year here at Retreat at RTP! This has been my best apartment living experience in the Durham/RTP area. A close 7 minute drive from downtown while also having peace and quiet away from the city itself.
The office staff is great, especially Genesis! I receive email responses in a timely manner and she is always a delight to speak to. I also love the attention and effort put into planning/hosting community events.
Cheers to a 4th year of coming home to Retreat at RTP!
