  I moved in August of 2025 and the staff was very attentive and detail oriented with my move in and maintenance requests were typically handled quickly without needing to follow up. The pool has been closed all summer which to me is a big issue because when I moved in they said it was open weather pending and the summer is almost over with no update if it’s even going to be open at all, very disappointing and frustrating. The front gate is broken more than when it works, but compared to other apartments I’ve lived in the area I do feel pretty safe living here. My washing machine has also been broken for going on 2 1/2 months where I’ve had to call and go in person to get updates. The apartment complex has gone down hill in the last few months compared to when I first moved in.

  We had a fantastic experience moving into Thornberry, all thanks to Richard Baker! From our very first apartment tour—where he clearly explained all the amenities and helped us fall in love with the space—to our official move-in day, everything was smooth and completely hassle-free. Richard honored every single arrangement on the exact set date without any delays. The community itself is really nice, welcoming, and well-maintained. We are happier with our choice—highly recommend working with Richard if you're looking to move here!

  Run for the hills! This place is by far the worst place I’ve ever lived at. Pool has been closed all summer, the property manager is so nasty and rude. Upon moving out we had to call and call to get our deposit back. At first they told us oh well you owe us money because of the carpet having animal hair on it, we had to replace the whole carpet. Meanwhile my $75 vacuum from Walmart can pick up the cat hair. We left that apartment in amazing condition and took care of it. So I asked for a receipt proving they paid someone to come and replace the whole carpet. They said all they can provide is a before and after picture. I told them sorry that’s not going to work for me. I work with realtors, lawyers and property managers. I know what they are saying is a lie. An hour goes by, they call me saying oh it’s their error and we should receive the full deposit back minus our final water bill. Then I got another email saying we will receive $70 deposit refund…. Our deposit was $200. There is no way our water bill was $130 for our last 20 days there. Our water bill during a full month was at most $50. They are partaking in fraudulent activity. Had I not called to ask for proof they would have stolen the $200 deposit we put down to live in that dump of a place. I will be filing a report with the BBB and I have already started the process of a lawsuit as they are not holding their end of the legal binding lease. DO NOT MOVE HERE I PROMISE YOU WILL REGRET IT.

  This is one of the worst places near UNCC campus.The non renovated units don't hold up as well with wooden pieces falling from the kitchen. Lived here for a year and started with AC issues that took a month (April 7- May 8th) for them to fix despite expressing concerns and calling every week. One of the maintenance workers even threw a fit thinking that our AC was fine, only to find out it needed a quick reset. After all that they wouldn't even consider the rent to be adjusted given the hassle of not having AC for a whole month with rising temperatures. Also parking has been abysmal in some sections of the complex, with broken down cars to the point where everyone would just park in the handicap. When your car gets towed for parking in a handicap spot, and they claim it's "a new regulation" they're adding- someone without a handicap sticker would just park there without a care in the world. When there's an issue that has not been fixed for a few days despite being in the maintenance log, they will tell you the same thing in the same manner without any solution in mind. And as far as the complex having a loss of "$60,000" from replacing AC units apparently, they DO manage to buy a brand new shiny golf cart for them to get around the complex. What can you expect when the pool is closed for the whole summer and don't worry about the gate code because gates stay broken. When you express that some areas in the unit need further inspection- such as ventilation- they will just argue with you. The outlets are also not safe to use, so be prepared to use many surge protectors. Overall, anywhere else would give you more bang for your buck.
