  Me and my thousands of siblings and cousins have been living here rent-free for over three years now! This year (2026) has been our best year yet at the Flats at Ballantyne Apartments. We have officially taken over every single space available! At night we like to gather and scatter across our human neighbors’ toes on the sidewalk, grass, balconies, pool area, dog park, and even the garages! We love our daily family gatherings and the Flats provides us with ample opportunities to prioritize our comfortability while keeping our large family close. If you can’t see us at during the day it’s because we are great at camouflage and are probably resting inside your walls, or in a dark corner in your closet from our busy night. Please do not fret, plenty lucky human tenants get to see us multiple times a day (even inside their faucets)! The best part is the Flats at Ballantyne Apartments do not discriminate! They love having our long distance cousins or officially known as Blattella germanica (german roaches) living here too. I hear enough humans complaining about us but it isn’t our fault we are considered a dangerous pest, bring allergies and disease with us, we just love spreading the love around. We are misunderstood. Don’t worry humans, trust us, this is indeed luxury living for us roaches. Special thanks to everyone at the office and corporate for making our stay here long-lived and so comfortable, we really couldn’t have grown this much without your help!

  One of the poorest run apartment complexes I've ever lived in. I've stayed in places that are half the price that are significantly better managed than this property. You name it this property has it, from broken elevators and doors to mountains of trash outside the dumpster to gangs of teenagers taking over the pool late into the night causing chaos. However the office is sure to issue violations for dog toys in the tree of the dog park or god forbid someone parks in the EV parking when all other parking is taken. If you read this review, please for your sanity choose anywhere else to live.

  Started out great, took a nose dive after that. I've been here for two years. Recently, there is a new management group that has taken over. The quality of service, groundskeeping, upkeep and overall management has absolutely tanked. Mostly, all of the tenants that were here when I first moved in have fled. For good reason. There is dog shit all over the place, the gym is no longer accessible, as the doors are locked shut for whatever reason (Glad I pay for that!) The garages fail, leaving cars inaccessible.(Also glad I pay for that!) The walls are paper thin, you can hear everything next to and above you. The hallways smell like savaged diapers half of the time. They don't notify you when you have a package, so you just have to know when items are delivered or you will simply not get your package. You can also expect the fire alarm to go off every couple of months for no reason. It's really too bad, because when I first rented here it was quite nice, not the case anymore. When you are paying as much as this place charges for convenience and rental, you'd expect these sorts of things to be taken care of. You have been warned, do not rent here. Luckily we bought ourselves a home and no longer have to deal with rentals.

  This place is by far the best in Charlotte. I have been in Charlotte for over 10 Years and bounced around APT complex's since college. Obviously better pay checks allow you to move on up in the world. Even the amenities to the staff (Janae and Erin) are fabulous. The will go out of there way to take care of your needs or issues. From the view and upgraded dog park - this is the PLACE TO STAY.
