Incredibly impressive poolside event. Sam, the event coordinator lived up to all the great things I had already heard about her and the event was just overall very inclusive and welcoming.

Amazing apartment building. Great staff, the maintenance team is the best I’ve ever had. The resident events put on by Sam and Marcus are top notch. Highly recommend!

Living at The Ellis has been a great experience so far! The biggest point I’d lead with is how kind all the staff is; their friendliness has made me feel completely comfortable here and truly at home. The leasing office staff, like Michelle, are very professional, competent, and genuine people who I’ve really enjoyed getting to work with. The concierge staff, like Phil, always greet me with a smile on their face, not only making me feel very safe, but I feel genuinely welcomed. The maintenance staff, like Jose, are extremely diligent, professional, and take the time to listen to any concerns I may have. At The Ellis, I feel genuinely heard and respected as a resident. The staff here treats everyone with kindness, leads with a smile, and creates an environment that, again, feels truly welcoming. The location is incredible too! It is right in Uptown, a minute walk from the light rail, and I’ve recently discovered some fun walking paths! My apartment is great, too! The appliances are up to date, it has great space, and I love the layout. Overall, The Ellis has been an exceptional experience

Having lived at The Ellis for nearly 3 years, I can say that while the location in Uptown Charlotte is convenient and the complex itself looks nice, the definition of "luxury" here is seriously misconstrued. As a long-term resident, I’m not overly picky, but the level of micro-management and constant rule enforcement has become far too overbearing for what we pay in rent: Over-policed amenities: Using basic amenities like the pool area now comes with strict check-ins, mandatory wristbands, photo ID verification with on-site pool attendants, and bans on simple things like personal music speakers. Instead of a relaxing "luxury" perk, using common spaces feels like an inconvenience. Leasing office dynamics: While not true for all staff, interactions with management often lack warmth or proper resident courtesy. There is an underlying attitude toward residents that feels unwelcoming and unprofessional at times. Amenity Reliability & Rules: Between frequent amenity disruptions and a non-stop list of new restrictions, the value proposition just isn't there anymore. When you pay top-tier Uptown prices, you expect comfort, respect, and seamless access to what you're paying for—not feeling like your every move is monitored. I know multiple former residents, including personal friends, who chose not to renew for these exact same reasons. I’m glad my lease is coming to an end and will not be renewing. If you need a temporary spot right in Uptown, it works, but if you have options, save your money and look elsewhere. The Ellis should be a last resort.
