I had a 1:00 PM appointment and arrived on time, expecting a professional and welcoming experience. Unfortunately, my interaction with Brad was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I walked into the office at 1:00 PM and was back out by approximately 1:16 PM, despite having a scheduled appointment to discuss purchasing a home.
From the beginning, his attitude felt dismissive. After I shared my budget, everything seemed to change. My budget wasn’t $100,000 or $200,000—it was around $400,000, which I believe is a very reasonable budget for someone looking to buy a home. In fact, if you’re reading this review and you’re from the Charlotte area, I’d genuinely like to ask: Is a $400,000 home-buying budget really considered a bad budget? Regardless of the amount, every customer deserves to be treated with the same level of respect and professionalism.
Brad took me to only one home and then simply walked away, telling me I could look at the other homes on my own. There was no effort to explain the community, answer my questions, or discuss other options that might fit my needs.
When I returned to speak with him, hoping to discuss different homes or even increasing my budget, he immediately said, “I take money very seriously,” and told me to go to the website or take a brochure to see what I qualified for. Instead of trying to understand my situation or help me find a solution, he ended the conversation as if I wasn’t worth his time.
Another thing that stood out was that, despite having a scheduled appointment, Brad never invited me into his office to sit down and discuss my options. We stayed in the common office area, and I was simply handed a brochure. It did not feel like the level of service I would expect from someone with a scheduled appointment.
What made the experience even more upsetting was that, while I was still there, a white woman walked into the office. Brad immediately greeted her and offered to show her the homes. Seeing the difference in how she was treated compared to me was deeply disappointing. I can’t say for certain why I was treated differently, but based on the entire interaction, I left feeling that my skin color or my budget may have influenced the way I was treated.
I came ready to buy a home and was genuinely interested in discussing other options, including increasing my budget if needed. I never had the opportunity because the conversation was cut short. After the way I was treated, I decided I would not purchase a home through Brad.
Every customer deserves to be treated with respect, professionalism, and the same level of service, regardless of their budget or background. My entire appointment lasted only about 16 minutes, and I left feeling disrespected, dismissed, and unwelcome.
I hope management takes this feedback seriously, reviews what happened, and ensures that every prospective buyer is treated fairly and respectfully.
