  Charged me a full month of rent when the lease legally ends on the 15th. They send multiple emails stating that you need to be out of the unit on or before the date that your lease ends, yet charge you for the full month. Avaricious and aloof.

  Those looking to lease with MECA need to be careful when reviewing the contract. There is NO standard way out. I am a third year tenant. I received a job offer in another city. I took this offer but soon realized that there was no way to be released from contract. No early termination clause nor mutual agreement buyout. They have been gladly taking my money for 8 months without providing help in what most would call a common circumstance. Although I moved to a new city, it was my full obligation to find somebody to take over my lease. If you can 100% guarantee your staying with MECA through the lease date then this is obviously a non issue. But nobody can truly guarantee such a thing. There will always be a possibility of a circumstance that requires a tenant to move.
