DO NOT LIVE HERE- YOU WILL REGRET IT!! I toured this complex last year when it was Hawthorne at the Parkway and I could not wait to move here this year in 2026. I unfortunately was not made aware of the management change to Crestline Cary before signing my lease- which is where the issues began. For one month, I was constantly told there was no update on my lease being executed- aka confirmed that I had a place to live-until one week before my movers were set to come and I basically called in hysterics since I was moving from out of state. I was told for one month, by multiple calls to Resha and Amanda, that they didn’t have access to any information because it was still under the old property?? Make it make sense to me. I received no welcome info or any information other than an excel spreadsheet of the amount I owed- what a great first impression.
Since living here, the problems have only persisted. If you have a question for the office staff- good luck because they will purposely screen your calls (Yupp I’ve actually seen it happen) and if you decide to leave a voicemail instead- you won’t ever get a call back. Couldn’t tell you what they do all day.
Also the mail situation? HORRENDOUS. I was actually chastised by their rude property manager Amanda that they didn’t own the Amazon locker on the property- she told me it was my responsibility to enroll in it. The locker is privately owned by the property and the property has to send an email to each of the residents to enroll. I’ve been here for almost 4 months and still have not received any update from anyone in the office on this- yet Amanda spoke with such confidence in a condescending manner towards me. I continuously have issues with my mail being delivered.
I kept seeing a few roaches in my apartment once the summer started, so being we PAY for pest control, I submitted a maintenance request, no one came and then I see it was then marked as complete. So what do I do? Submit another one. That one gets marked as complete. So again, I submit another one, I call the main office multiple times and am told they will put me on a list for the spray. That was 4 WEEKS ago. No one has come to my apartment to date and my most recent request is still keep being marked as complete. I even got sent an email asking me if I was satisfied with my maintenance service so I wrote back a very lengthy email advising that no one came and my requests keep being marked as complete. Have I received a response? Nope and I wouldn’t hold my breath that I will.
Cary is a great area- do yourself a favor and look
elsewhere.
I’m looking forward to getting that AI generated response from the property about this review. But maybe instead of making it look like you’re helping your residents, give them a call and actually do something about it.
I have lived in this complex since April 2024 and have grown to love the location and community. Previously known as Hawthorne At The Parkway, it has recently undergone a change in management and name. The complex is now known as Crestline Cary. As with any huge undertaking, hiccups, updates and changes in procedures/processes are expected. The new management team/leasing office/maintenance crew have excelled in this monumental task.
Everyone in the leasing office are friendly, accomodating, patient and ALWAYS happy to assist. I have visited the office numerous times for minor issues. Bailey and Reesha patiently listened and responded immediately. They have done an admirable job to keep the change as seamless as possible.
Additionally, our maintenance crew, Javiel, Chuck and Chris, are professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The grounds are immaculate and maintained to a very high standard. My most recent maintenance requests were completed the same day I requested them.
If you are looking for an amazing apartment community, an excellent neighborhood Cary location with beautiful apartments and amenities....you simply cannot go wrong with Crestline Cary. It is a peaceful, quiet and beautiful apartment complex tucked away in one of the best cities I have ever lived in

My husband and I lived in this complex from 2021-2026. Before the apartment was Crestline Cary, it was Hawthorne at the Parkway, which was wonderfully managed. Since becoming Crestline Cary and having new management, the community has gone drastically downhill. There is no communication, charges put on your account that you are not responsible for, amenities and AC frequently breaking, and to top it all off underneath our apartment there were sex workers (that I contacted the apartment and authorities multiple times about). They frequently told me that our neighbors were also not the people who applied for the apartment, which is also illegal. Do not rent from this apartment complex or management company. It is such a shame - when it was HAWTHORNE AT THE PARKWAY it was wonderful. CRESTLINE CARY is not.
Worst experience of my life.
A place run by evil people.
This has been one of the most frustrating experiences I have ever had with a property management team. As my lease renewal approached, I discovered that newly renovated apartments in the complex are being rented for more than $200 less per month than my older, unrenovated unit. To make matters worse, some of these remodeled apartments are larger, newer, and significantly nicer than the apartment I currently occupy.
When I received my renewal offer, management offered me essentially the same terms as last year—meaning they expected me to pay more money for a worse apartment than what new residents are being offered. I approached the office and asked if my rent could be adjusted to something more reasonable and comparable to the current market rates within the same community. I was told they would look into it and that there was likely something they could do. Then I never heard back.
I followed up again. Same answer. No response.
I followed up a third time. Same answer. No response.
I followed up a fourth time. Same answer. No response.
I continued asking for updates over the course of several weeks and was repeatedly told someone would contact me. I even spoke with the regional manager and they told me they would talk to their management and see. Nobody ever did. It became painfully obvious that management was intentionally avoiding the conversation and delaying any real response until I was backed into a corner with my lease deadline approaching.
Then, on the very last day I had to make a renewal decision, after months of being told they were “looking into it,” I was suddenly informed that they had never done anything like that before and that it was impossible. If that was the answer from the beginning, they should have had the professionalism and respect to tell me upfront instead of wasting months of my time and forcing me into a last-minute decision. The regional manager knew this the whole time. Now there are no available apartments for me to transfer to. It’s so painfully obvious that they intentionally ignored me so I had to wait and couldn’t transfer to one of them. That’s the worst part about it. It cost them thousands to flip the apartment I was in and they would lose money if I transferred. They finessed me into a corner. It’s disgusting.
The lack of communication alone would be unacceptable, but it doesn’t stop there. Over the past 9 months, I have reported maintenance issues to the front office multiple times. I was repeatedly told the problems would be addressed, yet they remain unresolved to this day. Requests are acknowledged, promises are made, and then nothing happens. 9 months!
This management team has demonstrated a complete lack of transparency, accountability, and respect for its residents. They seem far more interested in attracting new tenants than taking care of the people who already live here and I’ve lived here for 4 years now.
I cannot recommend this apartment complex to anyone. Prospective residents should look elsewhere before signing a lease here, because once you’re a tenant, communication disappears, maintenance requests go unresolved, and loyalty means absolutely nothing.

Wait a couple months more to book an apartment here. The place is under new management as of Jan/Feb 2026 and while the staff on site are very nice and as helpful as they can be, Crestline Cary as a company has been unable to get their online systems fully configured yet. Figuring out paying rent is tricky and no autopay available yet! Kind of frustrating so far.
