My parking pass expired on 5/1/2025, on 5/16/25 my car was towed. I pay rent there every month but still the property management felt it was necessary to tow my car because I forgot to renew my pass for $25!! It cost $250 to get it from the tow yard, the property manager scolded me for not being respectful when I called and cursed at her, no apology whatsoever for towing my car and making me 3 hours late for work. This seems in line with how they treat their renters, all the perks they tell you about don't actually exist!! AND...The pool and grills close at dark and there are security cameras so don't plan on having a cook out after the sun sets!!

My experience living at Retreat has been overwhelmingly positive. The facilities are clean and well maintained, the community is friendly, and the maintenance team is responsive and reasonable. The units themselves are nice and relatively modern, but still feel a bit underwhelming for the price you are paying. The property management staff, even with a decent amount of staff turnover, is responsive and attentive to needs of those in the community. The views around the complex are stunning and it is in a safe part of town - you won't see any homeless people around. The biggest issue with Retreat is the inconsistencies of rent prices between similar units - some tenants seem to have worked out individual arrangements with the staff for cheaper rent that they won't offer to everyone. Additionally, if you try to renew your lease they will jack up your rent an unreasonable amount, but they will put it on the market for a lower rate than what they want to charge you which doesn't really make sense. Overall, I strongly recommend Retreat for a friendly and spacious apartment complex and community with pretty modern facilities and a nice location close to downtown Asheville.

Moving from Atlanta to Asheville so went to visit Asheville for the weekend to view apartments. Met Sally at the leasing office and she was so helpful even though we weren't able to view a unit at that time b/c none were available. Sally told us she'd contact us if/when a unit opened up. Honestly? We didn't expect to hear back but not only did Sally keep us in mind but she sent us videos of the exact unit, assisted us with holding the unit while we arranged our move out date for our current place, and answered our dozens of questions. Moving out of the state is stressful but Sally was super helpful and definitely put us at ease that we chose the right place for us at the Retreat at Hunt Hill.

The Retreat at Hunt Hill is a very nice location close to down town. The units are new and modern. Parking is a little desired, but not bad. There is a public sports park next to the complex with plenty of room to run around or catch a game. All in all a nice place to live.
