I should have taken the hint before I even moved in.
I toured and selected a specific first-floor, more secluded unit (important because I have a toddler). When I went to apply, the unit I was shown wasn’t even available on their portal. I was told not to worry, they’d fix it on their end. Fast forward to move-in day, and somehow I’m assigned a third-floor apartment. After specifically confirming multiple times that I wanted and needed a first-floor unit. That pretty much set the tone for the entire experience.
The move-out process was just as disorganized. I was given the wrong move-out date by the office, even after going in person to confirm it after submitting my notice. Before leaving, I stopped by again to make sure everything was handled and was told I was good to go. No walkthrough, no concerns…until later, when I got charged for “damage” that was already documented on my move-in form. Apparently that form disappeared when it became inconvenient.
Management also confidently claims they use “only the nicest floors,” which is interesting, because I personally watched flooring get rolled out in the parking lot and cut with a box blade before installation. If that’s the standard, expectations are doing a lot of work here. No matter how much I mopped, the floors never actually got clean. Walking barefoot inside meant your feet would be dirty within minutes.
At one point, they sent out emails about “eyesores” on porches and then went around taking pictures of residents’ belongings. My porch isn’t visible from anywhere on the property, but that didn’t stop them from going out of their way to come right up and photograph it. The email threatened fines and eviction, and the phone number provided didn’t even connect to the office. I had to go in person just to speak with someone.
Amenities are more of a suggestion than a reality. Both pools were closed for most of the summer, and one never reopened. Still paying amenity fees though, which is a bold choice. The laundry room was also down often enough to be unreliable.
There was also a shooting at the complex early last year, which, at least from a resident perspective, didn’t seem to be communicated about in any meaningful way. That didn’t exactly inspire confidence.
The office staff generally seemed uninformed or unable to help. Getting a clear answer usually required multiple attempts and a bit of luck.
As for the apartment itself: baseboards coming off the walls, sloppy finishing work, cheap flooring, and drafty windows.
The only reason this place was even somewhat tolerable was a move-in special that lowered the rent. At full price, it wouldn’t even be a consideration.
Overall, this place is consistently disorganized, poorly maintained, and difficult to deal with. If everything goes smoothly, you might be fine. But if anything goes wrong, don’t expect much help fixing it.
