Came here because I wasn’t told multiple times that they offer free first time visits for your animals. My dog had had an appointment set up like four years ago and it never went through so I was told that my option for the free point was available. Started at the Hyde Park location but ended up moving to the this location because I needed a quicker date. Everything went all right in the appointment, they were professional and detailed but then told me that just to have my dogs glands excised was $50 and then told me she needed a food that cost $100 a bag. Fine, whatever we go to check out and they tell me that the appointment is $80!!!!!! First off, I would never in my entire life make an appointment anywhere that charges that kind of money for a basic check-in. You could let her go to any vet probably in the area and get an appointment for less than $60. So, I kindly told the receptionist that I was told differently and tried to explain the story which she didn’t seem to care nor comprehend, and then told me she was reporting me to collections. Great way to get customers, Banfield. No wonder you’re offering free appointments in the first place so then you can spring some ungodly price for someone to put us in a waiting room for 10 minutes then do 10 minutes of work. Will never return and will be contacting corporate to pull the calls when I was told it was a free visit. Honestly, though, even if it had been free, I would never return for that insane price on top of the fact they want $50 just to do the glands again where you could get them done at a petsmart walk-in I think for 15 bucks!!

I would only use this as a vet of last resort. I’ve got here for six years, and they have definitely gone downhill. Their care plans barely cover anything anymore. It used to be a simple drop-off, pick up process. They have now mandated making you sit in a waiting office only to be offered expensive, unnecessary upsells. My wife walked in and they handed her a sheet of paper that you are supposed to check off for elective procedures. They have begun checking off all the boxes for you, and you now have to tell them no to each one. Feels like they’re trying to reach into my wallet and take the money out.
The one time they thought they actually thought they spotted a medical issue, they told me they couldn’t handle it in office and referred me to another vet. During a long and stressful day of heading to and waiting for the other vet, I had to take off of work. When we finally see the other vet, it takes him 15 minutes to do an evaluation and professionally tell us that Banfield didn’t know what they were looking at and their diagnosis was wrong. Find another vet.

They are scammers I paid for the puppy care plan it was spouse to come with one emergency visit a month covered by the plan I paid for my dog got her paw stuck in fence and cut her paw open needed stitches I was told by the vet that due to fact they where closing in 30 minutes and she was actively bleeding he couldn’t do any because he had other surgeries none of this was ever explained to me before I got service I was referred to a urgent care that I ended up paying another 400 that I don’t find fair when my plan covers emergencies vists now they are being rude giving me the round around putting me on hold no one wants to give me a direct answer I will be reporting this to the better business bureau

We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
