I am not shocked but I am disappointed. I am extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled. I have moved states and coming back to write this review. That is how much of an impact it has on me.
Three years ago, I paid approximately $120 for a grooming service, and my dog was returned to me in about 20 minutes, still dripping wet. I expressed my concern with the groomer who stated “the groom was shortened due to them closing early for the holidays” if that was the case, they should of informed me to make that decision or i could of rescheduled . I contacted the manager because I did not receive the service I paid for. The manager did take her side. I received my dog who was freezing and shaking from her being wet and did not get my service completed. I did call Petco customer service to get my issue sorted and they offered me a refund for the service i partially received. I never went back to that Petco since the incident.
I recently discovered that, following my complaint, a note was placed on my account that permanently prevented me from booking grooming appointments online . Every time I tried to schedule an appointment, I was required to call the salon due to this flag on my account, creating an unnecessary inconvenience that I was never informed about.
I no longer use this Petco because of this experience, even though it happened over three years ago. What disappoints me most is that I had no idea my account had been flagged until a groomer at a different Petco pulled me aside and explained what had happened.
For the past three years, I’ve been turned away from multiple Petco locations or required to schedule appointments in person and have my dog evaluated before receiving grooming services. I always assumed it was because my dog is a pug and accepted their policies without questioning it.
After speaking with Petco Customer Service, I learned that my account had, in fact, been flagged with this Petco after I reported a legitimate concern about a grooming service I paid for but never received. Instead of addressing my complaint fairly, I was left with a restriction on my account that made booking appointments unnecessarily difficult for years, without my knowledge.
Customers should never be made to feel like speaking up about poor service will result in long-term consequences. I simply wanted the grooming service I paid for. Instead, I spent three years dealing with an inconvenience that I didn’t even know existed.
I appreciate that Customer Service is now looking into the matter, but this should never have happened. I hope Petco reviews its policies to ensure account notes are used appropriately and that customers who provide honest feedback are treated fairly.

Don’t go to Petco on S Hurstbourne if you want a turtle!!!!!! The guy running the reptile department wouldn’t allow me to buy a turtle. He told me I have to have call of these requirements just to leave out the store with the turtle. I wanted to buy the tank and accessories from Amazon for less money not purchase from Petco. The guy placed all these different accessories in my cart and then when I told him I wanted to get the tank from somewhere else he got mad and then refused to sell me the turtle. I didn’t know that a minimum wage job have such overly passionate workers trying to protect animals working there. They don’t make you leave the store with a dog house when you buy a dog. This isn’t the process I’m sure and I know that his management team will be disappointed that he is denying sales.

I usually love going to this Petco when the really nice 2 women are working but tonight the manager Cole and some other girl with short blonde hair with bangs were working. I came in at 8:30-8:35 to get a feeder mouse for my snake and some worms for my geico. I walked up the the girl and asked for a feeder, she told me that they don't give out feeders 30 minutes before they close due to paperwork.. so I walked up to the front counter and asked Cole if he was a manager and he said yes so I asked him why I couldn't get a feeder mouse 30 minutes before close... He told me the same thing because of the paperwork, mind you I've been going to this Petco for years and know that the paperwork to buy a feeder mice is not more than 10-20 seconds long, they put your phone number in their phone pad and you sign something and they get the mouse and take it to the front.. after I told him that my snake hasn't ate and we are about to go on vacation he said he felt bad because he has snakes too and decided to finally get me a feeder.. all the back and forth between him and I and the other girl, they both couldve got me a mouse quicker than it took for me to ask them.. seems lazy to me honestly.. I wont be going back there when they are working. The girl didn't even seem to be doing anything when I asked her for the feeder..I would understand their position if I came in 5 or 10 minutes before they closed but I was there atleast 25 to 30 mins before they closed.. the last time I went there they were out of feeders so when I was finally able to come back tonight and they had some, I was happy, then they pissed me off not trying to sell me one at first.. glad he did finally but it shouldn't have been a problem to begin with.. I wish I knew the other ladies names that work there they are always so nice and kind and I know they would've got me what I needed and not said no bullshit about paperwork and 30mins before closing..
