Animal ShelterPet Adoption Service
Our adoption center and intake center + services share the same campus (3516/3528 Newburg Rd). Louisville Metro Animal Services Animal House is our adoption center open daily noon-6pm. Our intake facility for strays, assistance, licensing, fines, etc open Monday-Saturday noon-6pm, closed every Sunday. LMAS is Louisville's only open intake shelter and tax payer funded. We are #YourCityShelter. We take in all stray domesticated pets found in Jefferson County. We do not charge fees for stray turn in or stray pick up. We only take owner surrender pets in by appointment. We offer a community pet food pantry, pet licenses, fully vetted pet adoptions, volunteer opportunities, and more!
