About

Animal Shelter
Scott County Humane Society helps pets and their people through adoption, foster care, low-cost spay/neuter services, humane education, and pet food assistance. Based in Georgetown, Kentucky, our volunteer-run organization connects homeless cats and dogs with loving families while supporting responsible pet ownership. We partner with the Scott County Animal Shelter but do not operate an intake facility. Volunteers, foster families, donors, and community partners make our lifesaving work possible. Visit our Adoption and Education Center at 1376 Lexington Road to meet adoptable pets and learn to help. Adopt, foster, volunteer, become a member or donate to help us build a more compassionate community for animals and their caregivers.

Tonight is the rabies vaccination night that was advertised a month or so ago. This is a wonderful thing for pet owners. However we arrived way before 5:30 to get moved out of line twice and then proceeded to put other people in front of us. There is absolutely no organization to this and apparently did not plan well. It’s not fair to those of us that got here and were in line to push us back twice and allow others in front of us. Poor planning and not sure if I would recommend this to anyone. Very disappointed.
