  We recently purchased two fish from this location, and unfortunately one of them did not survive until the next day. When we purchased the fish, we were told that if a fish died, we could bring in the fish, a water sample, and our receipt for assistance, so that is what we did. When I came in, I was told that they would not test the water sample I brought in. I was able to receive a refund, but I was told I could not get a replacement fish. Later, we found out that the store does offer free water testing, but apparently if you bring in a deceased fish, the water sample needs to be separate and you need to provide your own testing strip. That requirement was never explained to us at the time of purchase or when we came in for help. The most frustrating part was the lack of clear communication. We were trying to do the right thing by bringing in the fish, water sample, and receipt, and we had also purchased additional items to make sure the tank conditions were right because this was for our young daughters. My husband also overheard the employee Jeremy and another worker discussing his questions and making a comment along the lines of how, with all the technology available, people can look up this information themselves. We understand that customers can research, but we were asking questions because we wanted to properly care for our fish and get accurate information from the store we purchased them from. The issue was not simply that a fish died, unfortunately that can happen. The issue was the unclear policy, inconsistent information, and feeling like we were judged for trying to get help and learn how to properly care for our fish.

  I was there today and was trying to take pictures and videos of some of the habitats to see if my daughter would be interested in anything they had since we live an hour and a half away( mind u there isn't anything posted about not being able to video or record) and a rude accosiate came up to me and told me not to be taking videos or pictures.. Then as we went to the front I asked about how much the mealworms were and she got smart and said and I quote "their different price what do u want" there was absolutely no reason to be treated like garbage. If u want to be treated fairly and with respect I would most definitely not go to Petco!!!!! Experience was the worst and shouldn't be aloud to treat people the way they do. I wouldn't give them star at all but in order to do the review it was required....

  Some of the employees are rude and when you ask for help some of them make you feel like your bothering them
