  I had a 14-minute consultation with Jonathan. He performed a succinct yet comprehensive assessment of my case. He set rational expectations for recovery. The authoritative manner in which he brought to bear his expertise gave me faith that, had I chosen to proceed, he would have prevailed. The reason for my 3-star review occurred as Jonathan asked whether my former employer had given me a bonus. I said no, and I went on to explain what I understood was the bonus policy. As I was half a sentence into my explanation, Jonathan snapped. He chided me for "mansplaining." Supposing this may be his attempt at humor, I chuckled. But, he made clear he was fuming. Chiding me for "wasting his time" and drawing a bizarre analogy to telling a mechanic how to repair your car, Jonathan was hostile and condescending well outside the boundary of professionalism. I want to underscore that I never raised my voice or showed any hint of aggression; I was calm and even apologized for coming off the wrong way, which - in a client service profession - is utterly backward. I understand the reality some clients are not worth taking. The appropriate response is to swiftly end the engagement by a wish of good luck in finding another lawyer. Jonathan wasted everyone's time throwing a tantrum, and he earned these 3 stars as a consequence. I feel bad for attorneys Sasha and Queenie who were also on the call and who, unlike their boss, showed me the utmost respect. I am sorry I could not retain their services and cannot provide a 5-star rating for the firm at which they work. If they read this review I want them to know I am cheering them on, and for their sake, I hope the lateral market is strong. To Jonathan's credit, his temperament improved toward the end of our call. I said I would email more information about my case. He signed off with, "Good luck to us." I spent the next hour deciding whether Jonathan's conduct was a dealbreaker. I decided it was, and I emailed him to say I changed my mind. I hope I have laid out the facts as dispassionately as I could for a discerning consumer of legal services to make an informed choice.
