- JMJohn MillerOct 15, 20241.0We engaged Mortel Law to build an estate plan for us comprising a will, two (or more) trusts, two separate Powers of Attorney documents, and two Health Care Directive plans. Over the course of a 3 month period we worked with Mortel Law in determining our overall direction, and provided them with a great deal of personal financial information and personal values information. Before we completed the estate planning process (and to be fair, before we had paid any money), Mortel Law dropped us as a client via email. They indicated that they were now too busy to have us as a client. As a result, we have lost several months in our estate planning process and have to find a new estate planning attorney. It would have been appreciated if Mortel Law could have called us and had a discussion regarding their situation to see if some agreement could be reached for continued representation, but Mortel Law chose instead to “break up” via email.
