⭐ 1/5 I have extensive firsthand experience with Gayle J. Ryba and her office as opposing counsel in prolonged family-law litigation, both while represented by counsel and later while self-represented. My concerns are based on court filings, written communications, and proceedings I personally participated in. 1. Accuracy of Court Filings — Rules 4-3.1, 4-3.3 & 4-8.4(c) Florida Bar rules address the factual basis for claims, candor toward the court, and conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation. What occurred: An August 20, 2026 enforcement motion stated her office was first notified of a material matter on August 13. Emails document notice on July 15 and July 28. The motion nevertheless alleged noncompliance. The same motion stated the parties had “agreed” on another material issue. The controlling court document stated “to be determined,” with no signed agreement or court order establishing otherwise. 2. Required Financial Disclosure — Fla. Stat. §61.30(14) Florida law requires financial affidavits when child support is being established or modified, “whether or not a stipulation is entered.” What occurred: Ms. Ryba’s office filed a Motion to Waive Financial Disclosure and pursued a hearing seeking waiver. 3. Incomplete Notarized Document — Fla. Stat. §117.107(10) Florida law prohibits a notary from notarizing a signature on an incomplete or blank document. What occurred: A two-page Quitclaim Deed handled by Ms. Ryba’s office was notarized by office staff and later presented at a hearing with a date left blank. As a Florida Notary Public, I raised the issue before the General Magistrate. Ms. Ryba disputed that the blank presented an issue. 4. Filing & Service Accuracy Court filings and Certificates of Service should accurately reflect service information and information presented to the court. What occurred: A Certificate of Service contained an incorrect email address for me. I also encountered recurring date, spelling, and drafting errors. The frequency became significant enough that I advised the court I maintained a folder documenting errors from this office. 5. Florida Bar Rules at Issue Based on the documented conduct above, I believe the following Rules Regulating The Florida Bar are implicated: • Rule 4-3.1 — Meritorious Claims and Contentions: requires a nonfrivolous basis in law and fact. • Rule 4-3.2 — Expediting Litigation: requires reasonable efforts to expedite litigation. • Rule 4-3.3 — Candor Toward the Tribunal: governs candor to the court. • Rule 4-4.4 — Rights of Third Persons: addresses means having no substantial purpose other than to embarrass, delay, or burden another person. • Rule 4-8.4(c) — Misconduct: prohibits conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation. These concerns became significant enough that on August 21, 2026, I filed a formal complaint with The Florida Bar supported by exhibits documenting the issues described above. The complaint is pending review by THE FLORIDA BAR. Based on my extensive firsthand experience, I DO NOT RECOMMEND Gayle J. Ryba or her office. I recommend keeping detailed records of communications, filings, and dates, and carefully reviewing billing and litigation activity throughout the representation. Disclosure: This review is based solely on my firsthand experience, my own communications, and court records. No privileged attorney-client communications or private information are disclosed.
