👎🏽🧐I recently visited the World Market in The Woodlands with my family, and the experience was deeply disappointing. We filled a shopping cart and were ready to buy, but in every aisle we went down, the same three employees, including a white female manager, followed us around the store. It was obvious we were being watched and treated as suspects, and we could only conclude it was because of the color of our skin. My family owns our own business and we are entrepreneurs, so being profiled as likely shoplifters was insulting and humiliating. We chose not to give our money to a store that treated us that way, so we left our cart and walked out. Businesses should want customers to spend money, not make them feel unwelcome because of how they look. We will not be returning, and we are sharing our experience with family, friends, and associates so they can decide for themselves where to shop. Apparently this store is still living in the Jim Crow era and nothing has changed. It is disappointing this is the kind of employee’s World Market have working for them. They made it clear only a certain kind and only particular skin color is welcome to shop there.

World Market The Woodlands has an amazing selection of unique decor, furniture and gifts. What truly makes this store soecial is the manager Carrie! From the moment I walked into the store, I felt welcomed by Carrie and her staff. They were attentive without being intrusive and gave the best customer service I have experienced in a long time. This store is a gem.

Love coming here when I'm in the area, and seeing what all new things they have from around the world.
