UPDATE: After posting this review, the facility responded publicly asking me to provide my contact information so they could follow up. I provided the requested information and, once again, have yet to receive any kind of response. Unfortunately, that only reinforces my concerns and provides further insight into how seriously this company appears to take its customers’ safety, security, and concerns. A public response to a negative review means very little if there is no follow-through afterward.
Interestingly, they never had an issue collecting my monthly payments. They also had no problem increasing rental rates year after year, and before I moved out they notified me of yet another 20% increase, citing rising “operating expenses.” Apparently, those operating expenses don’t include promptly investigating reported thefts or following up with customers whose property was stolen.
If a customer’s unit can be broken into, their lock replaced with what appears to be the facility’s own hardware, a police report filed, and management still doesn’t bother reviewing security footage—or even follow up after publicly saying they will—that raises serious questions about how much they value customer security.
Store your belongings here at your own risk. Based on my experience, collecting payment and increasing rates were handled consistently. Protecting customers’ property, investigating a theft, and following through on customer concerns were not. I would not recommend this storage facility to anyone who values the security of their belongings.
My unit was broken into after someone cut my lock and stole items from inside. What made the situation even more concerning was that my lock had been replaced with an internal-style lock identical to the ones the facility uses on its trash bins, complete with the facility’s own sticker still attached. A police report was filed immediately, and the incident was reported to management in May.
What happened afterward was even more disappointing. I moved out in June and asked for an update, only to learn that no one had even reviewed the security camera footage. There was no sense of urgency, concern, or accountability. Months later, I still have not heard anything from the facility.
