  281 location would not honor on line prices from Leslie.com. Clerk told me I could buy online and wait 30 minutes to pick up in the store but I don’t have time for that. Last two visits have been disappointing. I used to come here a lot for chemicals. There are many better options out there now.

  Review specific for service department; not in-store. Work order / invoice originated at this store # 487 I requested an estimate for a pool heater installation over the phone. The estimator, Leo, was on-time (the sole positive of the experience) and quickly walked outside to the pumps to review my equipment. Without even measuring the pool to calculate the volume, validating pump specifications, he arbitrarily told me I'll need a 400,000 BTU unit, gas plumbing modifications, and a electrical tie-in. And that was the extent of the estimate. He then charged me $100.05 for 30 minutes of effort (site evaluation for $60 and trip fees of $37 for the 10 miles from the store to my home). Never in the process was I informed that there would be an estimation charge. In fact, I previously had a Leslie's estimate for pool fencing installation at zero cost. I would assume an estimate would explain the scope-of-work required. What plumbing modifications are necessary (you mentioned I may need a new gas meter too), and advised that I should review the equipment specifications on the Pentair website to understand what modifications would be necessary. This individual was not a technician and arbitrarily provided an estimate for $500 in labor (for what...2 people for 8 hours. And this is after I coordinate for the plumber and electrician) and $120 in materials (for what I assume is 10ft of 2" PVC piping and associated fittings) and the heater cost. Extremely disappointed. I cannot recommend their store, services, or supplies after this experience. Be forewarned about their service and repair department. Final thought...a quick google search for the heater (and with all of Cadillac options) provided a unit cost below $2500 w/ free shipping. There price of $3639 likely exceeds MSRP and is a huge mark-up. Buyer be warned.

  They charge for parts and not labor they say? Actually this location takes your money and says “the Axel on your Jandy parts aren’t covered under warranty”. Luckily I checked with my pool contractor. It’s covered 100%. This location lies to their customers to make some money.
