  Recently, we went to Leslie’s Pool to purchase a new pool cleaner and ended up buying a Polaris unit. During our visit, we also looked at Maytronics products because we had previously purchased one online through Pool Warehouse. Unfortunately, that turned into a hard lesson learned. The Maytronics cleaner was defective immediately after we put it into the pool. When we contacted Pool Warehouse, we were told we had to deal directly with Maytronics for warranty service. We are currently in a credit card dispute over the issue and thankfully received a temporary refund through Chase. What shocked us most was learning that with Maytronics products, regardless of where you buy them, warranty issues often require the customer to ship the unit back at their own expense. These cleaners are heavy, and shipping with insurance can easily cost $70–$100 or more. Even worse, many local stores cannot service or handle the warranty directly. What impressed us about Leslie’s Pool was the honesty of the salesperson. He openly told us he does not typically recommend Maytronics models because customers are stuck dealing with shipping and manufacturer warranty issues themselves. That honesty is what led us to purchase a Polaris instead. Before buying any robotic pool cleaner, especially a Maytronics product, ask these questions: Can I bring it back to the store for warranty service? Will the store handle repairs locally? Or will I be forced to ship it back at my own expense? We truly appreciate the transparency from Leslie’s Pool, something we never received from Pool Warehouse. Based on our experience, be very cautious when purchasing Maytronics products unless you fully understand the warranty and return process beforehand.

  Smaller store but has always had everything I need for my pool. More importantly, every time I have gone the staff has always been extremely helpful.
