  I don’t take any joy in having to write this, but I hope doing so helps other people avoid being treated the way I was. On 15 February, I ordered a Frigidaire 22.3-cu ft Standard-Depth 33-in Wide Side-by-Side Refrigerator. Within 24 hours, I noticed that the refrigerator side of the unit was freezing food and drink items—this wasn’t just a problem of slight overcooling; items were frozen completely solid. The problem persisted even with both sides of the unit on the warmest temperature settings. I called Lowes to report the problem and was promptly referred to the manufacturer. It’s worth noting here that, under the current Lowe’s return policy, Lowe’s will only provide returns and refunds on major appliances within 48 hours of purchase. This is obviously an unreasonable policy, as many customers aren’t likely to detect any temperature problems within the first 48 hours, much less solve them. In my case, I detected the problem within the first day but was still directed to Frigidaire’s customer service line. This begs the question, “under what circumstances are customers able to successfully return a major appliance to the store within 48 hours?” It doesn’t seem like there are many qualifying circumstances beyond the fridge failing to fit through the front door. What followed was three months of a nightmare back-and-forth with Frigidaire customer service. This involved countless calls and messages to representatives, three replacement parts, three repair attempts, and two separate repair companies (the latter of which was Sears home services, which is worse than useless). I also had to deal with missed days of work, same-day cancellations (thanks, Sears), and a complaint to the Better Business Bureau which resulted in being assigned a Lowe’s Executive Customer Relations representative who (while polite and professional) had no power to do anything besides contact Frigidaire and get the same dead-end answers I was getting. At no point in the process did Frigidaire check in on the status of my case without my repeated calling and prompting them. Finally, on 26 May, over three entire months after I made the purchase, I managed to get a supervisor at Frigidaire on the line who approved an exchange. Lowes called the next day and offered a full refund. Had they done this in the first place, or had they simply offered an exchange or store credit when I first called about the problem, it would have saved 3 months of grief, and they would probably still have me as a customer. As it stands, I’m never buying an appliance from Lowes again, and I’m not buying a Frigidaire from anywhere. I got my money back in the end, but that doesn’t make up for the wasted food, missed days of work and three months of stress. Credit where credit is due: one of the store’s managers, Dominic, did his best to help me out, but there’s only so much one person can do when the underlying problem is a company’s terrible, customer-unfriendly policies.

  Don’t bother getting expedited delivery because the driver will lie to you and say they Came to your house when I know damn well they didn’t ,if you ring the doorbell my dogs would go nuts and I have one dog you even get close to the porch starts alerting me ,plus I was sitting right there next to the front door so don’t come at me and tell me you came to my house to deliver it, It was a refrigerator that I needed today, not tomorrow ,not Tuesday, So customer services well customer service saidI can help you out and get it delivered tomorrow. No you could’ve helped me out and made them come back today. That’s really helping.
