This review is to recognize Edgar with the East Plano Lowes. On August 31, 2026, my wife and I were at the Allen Lowes location, where a kind gentlemen advised us that they sold out of a particular propane fire pit, but that the East Plano location had four in stock. Upon arriving at the Plano store, we were unable to locate the item in its designated area. I then sought assistance from Edgar, who was in a different department. After researching, he located the fire pits in a completely different section of the store, out of reach and in a high overhead bin. Edgar, with the assistance of another store member, Edward, roped off the section and used a forklift to retrieve the item. Edgar then helped me load the item onto a cart. While routine in nature, this was an evolved process that spanned 15-20 minutes, and Edgar remained kind and helpful throughout the entire process. A special thanks to Edgar with an assist to Edward … we very much appreciate your professionalism and courtesy. If not for their help, we would have left the store empty handed.

MISLEADING PROMOTIONAL FINANCING PRACTICES AT LOWE’S
I am writing this review to document the deceptive consumer credit practices I recently experienced regarding the Lowe’s store credit card, which has resulted in the immediate closure of my account.
The Initial Transaction and Terms:
During a recent washing machine purchase, Lowe’s authorized a price match with a competitor (Costco). I was subsequently informed that receiving the price match disqualified me from the standard 5% discount typically applied to Lowe’s credit card purchases. As an alternative, I was offered 18 months of zero-interest financing. Because retaining cash offers a measurable financial yield, I accepted these promotional terms in good faith.
The Deceptive Billing Architecture:
The fundamental deception in the Lowe's credit system becomes apparent during the billing phase when a promotional balance is combined with standard monthly expenditures.
The billing and payment portal is structured to actively work against the consumer in the following ways:
The Autopay Trap: If a customer has Autopay configured to pay the "Statement Balance," the system automatically forces a payoff of the entire account balance—including the zero-interest promotional amount. This immediately nullifies the 18-month financing offer in the very first billing cycle.
Predatory Payment Allocation: When I contacted customer support to properly allocate my payment to standard charges while leaving the promotional balance intact, I was informed the system does not allow for automated allocation.
Unviable Solutions Provided by Support
Customer service presented only two options to maintain the promotional financing, both of which are structurally designed to induce consumer error or generate high-interest fees:
1. Manual Monthly Recalculation: I was instructed to completely disable Autopay, manually calculate the difference between my standard purchases and the promotional fraction, and manually submit an adjusted payment every month for 18 months. This intentionally shifts an unnecessary administrative burden onto the consumer, increasing the likelihood of a missed or miscalculated payment.
2. Pay the "Minimum Due": The alternative offered was to set Autopay to the "minimum amount due." This is overtly predatory; paying only the minimum balance leaves standard monthly purchases unpaid, immediately triggering an exorbitant 31.99% interest rate on those non-promotional charges.
These billing mechanics are not a simple system limitation; they represent a deliberate architecture designed to trap consumers into either forfeiting their promotional terms or inadvertently incurring high-interest penalties.
Because I refuse to do business with institutions that rely on deceptive financing practices, I have paid off my balance in full and permanently canceled my Lowe’s credit card.

As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s. Orders shipped in multiple shipments will be charged separately at time of shipment; therefore, you may see multiple charges, but they'll never exceed the full amount of your order.
