Another disappointing experience at the Lowe’s in Kingwood. Prices have gotten so high that I now buy almost everything online or on Amazon where you can often save 30% to 40%. The only reason I still come to Lowe’s is because you obviously can’t order lumber online easily.
Unfortunately, the lumber department continues to be extremely frustrating. Much of the lumber has no pricing or signage, which forces customers to spend unnecessary time measuring boards, scanning items, and trying to figure out dimensions and pricing on their own. I spent nearly 30 minutes just trying to identify the right material and determine the best value.
To make matters worse, after finally selecting my lumber, I went to have it cut down to fit in my vehicle and the saw was not working. When I mentioned the issue to the cashier, there was little concern or urgency, and the manager who came over also seemed largely uninterested. This is not the first time I’ve raised concerns about the lack of pricing and organization in the lumber department, yet nothing seems to improve.
I’m not saying Home Depot is perfect, but at least their saws generally work and pricing is easier to find. At this point, I’m honestly not sure I’ll continue shopping at Lowe’s because it increasingly feels like customer experience is simply not a priority.
