- TLTiy LewisJun 9, 20261.0It’s unfortunate that I have to write this review, but this was one of the worst retail experiences I’ve had in a long time. I purchased a lamp from this World Market location after a sales associate sold it to me, even while stating that it may have been an online-only item or that it didn’t belong in their store. Despite that, the item was sold to me anyway. When I got home, I discovered the lampshade was crooked and clearly defective. When I tried to return the lamp, I was given the runaround about my receipt and was told the item wasn’t from their store. The manager, Angel, went as far as implying that I was being dishonest, which was both upsetting and unprofessional. I was then directed to customer service, where the experience only got worse. I’ve been told everything from “you’ll receive your receipt in 48–72 hours,” to “it’s with the audit team,” yet after speaking with multiple representatives and even a supervisor, I am no further along than when I first called last week. All I am asking for is a copy of my receipt so I can return a defective item. This should not be this difficult. The lack of professionalism and accountability has been extremely disappointing. I will not be shopping at World Market again. There are far better retailers that offer higher-quality products without inflated prices and without treating customers this way.

When they didn’t arrive in time for my party, he helped me locate all of them in the Houston area and even offered to have some delivered to the Katy store. I will definitely be a regular customer here in the future. Good job Angel!!!
