This store and its employees are the EPITOME of UNPROFESSIONAL! I purchased a sectional from here & between “the system” which is ALWAYS INACCURATE OR FAILING & the employees they have made this purchase a living HELL ! The original purchase date was 5/25 & 6/18 I am still pending a $100 + refund because they OVERCHARGED me. This day in particular I came into the store to pick up an online order for a skillet. The order was not ready , I left the store came back and asked if they can just give me the order because I was looking at the item. She attempted too but mentioned the system wouldn’t allow it. so, I left with no problem. Immediately after leaving the parking lot I got an email saying the order was ready for pick up. I came right back into the store & the employee said I needed a physical ID to pick it up & because I had already come to the store I asked if a manager could just give me the skillet while I was there. The manager came and I explained I just wanted to pick up the skillet& she said if I could show identification I could pick it up … as I am looking for a picture of my ID The manager on Duty ALLAINA makes the comment “it said it on the email that you needed the id” very condescending. I asked her what did that mean ? She could immediately tell I was offended by the comment & instead of actually answering she addressed me by my name saying “you know me Mrs. Lumpkin. I helped you before” “we don’t need any of this” while speaking to me she was doing a motion with her hands in my face telling me she doesn’t need this … she identified me before I introduced myself & I had already agreed to show a photo copy so everything past this point from the manager was pure combative & confrontational.
I had to fold my arms to hold my composure and I asked her “what don’t you need?” I didn’t come into this store yelling , cursing or disrespecting anyone , being frustrated is not illegal … were my exact words & continuing to be combative she goes I’m disrespecting her because I was frustrated at the fact that I asked her too pick up the skillet. I stated out loud that her behavior was NOT customer friendly AT ALL. I also mentioned I had the right to be frustrated with everything I’m still going through with the order that is still too this date not resolved. Now I’m being inconvenienced & ridiculed by a manager for my frustration with the way they treated me … coincidentally I was on the line with a world market customer service supervisor who over heard the entire interaction !
This sectional was my first WM purchase & the skillet was my second BOTH have left a bad taste in my mouth ! I simply will NOT spend my money where I’m not valued as a customer ❗️

I recently visited the World Market location on Yale Street and had a very uncomfortable experience. While browsing the store, I felt like I was being followed and closely monitored by (can’t recall name) red-haired employee who appeared to be a cashier. Browsing and exploring products is a big part of the shopping experience at World Market, so being made to feel watched the entire time was both uncomfortable and awkward.

First time shopper - last time shopper. Store had maybe 5 customers and 2 ladies on check out. I stood in line behind a woman, then realized the checker was chatting her up. When I tried to get into the other other, that checker pointed at the woman AFTER me and called HER over. When it was finally my turn, she said she ''didn't see me.' I said the other checker also 'didn't see me.' They have ONE job, to check people out with purchases. I Why would I ever return to #worldmarket ??
