  I called this company for a lockout service, but I canceled before any work was performed because the technician’s conduct made me feel unsafe. The technician arrived at my gated condo complex with another person in the vehicle. I explained that he could not park in the specific spot where he had stopped because I am new to the property, there are parking rules, and I did not want to risk a fine or create an issue with my neighbors. I asked him to move to street or visitor parking. Instead of simply moving or calmly clarifying the situation, he became argumentative. At that point, I told him I no longer wanted the service and asked him to leave. Rather than leaving, he got out of his vehicle, moved toward me, and continued arguing with me about payment. He claimed I was committing “theft of service,” even though no locksmith work had been performed. The situation escalated enough that I called 911 because I no longer felt safe continuing the interaction. What was most disappointing is that when I later spoke with the company, the focus still seemed to be on collecting a service fee rather than addressing why their technician escalated a canceled service call at a customer’s residence. No service was performed. I canceled because the situation no longer felt safe or professional. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company.

  The service is great, and the key is made pretty quickly. My only complaint is how much they try to upsell you during the process, everything from higher-end key materials to making multiple copies. The cheapest basic door key is around $9.99, which is probably a little pricey, but the convenience makes it acceptable. (these are the reasons why it’s not five stars) I do like that you can store your key information in the system, so if you lose it later, they can easily make you a new one. Overall, if you need a key while you’re at Randall’s or another location that has one of these machines, it’s definitely worth using. I also noticed that if they don’t have your key, they will still copy it and mail it to you. Plus, they do the same for vehicle FOB keys with the remote.(I’m sure you’ll have to get it programmed though)

  I think key.me kiosks are very good; user friendly & conveniently located. I had 3 copies each of 2 different house keys. The 1st group of 3 copies worked fine. The 2nd group of 3 didn’t turn the lock. Bad luck I guess. But key.me’s customer service is good. It has an easy way to solve a problem or get a refund via a link in texts that are sent after you get your keys copied. Also, I lost my car keys several months ago.

  I was skeptical of this service at first; however, after successfully testing three keys from a KeyMe kiosk, I’m convinced that this service is worth the time and money. Thanks!
