Extremely disappointed with my experience at Extra Space Storage.
My unit remained overlocked for THREE WEEKS after I had already paid what I owed. I didn’t realize it was still overlocked until Sunday, when I went to my unit specifically to get gear I needed and couldn’t access my own property.
When I called and spoke with Annalease, she told me she removed the overlock this morning and that she “didn’t see it before.” She then told me that lock checks are only done on Mondays. When I questioned that because I understood lock checks were supposed to be done daily, she responded that daily checks were “for locked units.”
That makes absolutely no sense to me. My unit WAS locked — by Extra Space Storage — even though I had already paid.
What made the situation worse was the complete lack of accountability. Instead of simply acknowledging that my unit should not have remained overlocked for three weeks after payment, Annalease continued arguing with me and insisting that it wasn’t her fault. Eventually, I was so frustrated with the conversation that I hung up.
Mistakes happen. What matters is how a business handles them. A simple apology and acknowledgment that this should have been caught would have gone a long way. Instead, I was unable to access equipment I needed because their overlock was still on my unit, and then I had to argue with an employee about whose fault it was.
If a customer has paid, they should be able to access their property. Three weeks is more than enough time for someone to notice and correct an overlock that should have been removed.

Analiza was the best, she explained everything to me till I was satisfied. She took her time showing me all the available units and parking spots. She helped me download the app and then made sure it worked and I understood how to use it. I really appreciate her professionalism and friendly customer service.

I just moved to Saginaw from Springfield, MA and I was in need of renting out a storage unit to put some boxes away. After looking through some storage facilities, I ended up here and decided to give this a try. I was greeted by Analiza and Larissa with their warm welcome and sincere care! Analiza was able to show me the available storage units and gave me a tour of the facility itself. The facility is ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS! The office is absolutely clean and the floors where the units reside are sparkling. The units are temperature-controlled, so it was nice and cool while we were walking throughout the facility. Luckily, there is an elevator access that leads up to the 2nd and 3rd floor.
I ended up getting a storage unit here and my experience has been absolutely amazing thus far. The Digital Access feature is definitely revolutionary, as I can open the front gate with my phone and enter the facility. Its absolutely secure and I am glad that I chose this location.
