I have been a loyal Lowe’s customer for 22 years, shopping this store multiple times a week. I am a Black woman and a longtime customer of this store, and despite that long history and substantial spending, I have repeatedly felt disregarded as a customer.
This is my third formal complaint in under a year.
On December 23, 2025, Assistant Manager Barrett refused to refund cash for an online order I had paid for in cash after the item was canceled that same day. He insisted on store credit and told me the employee who offered the cash refund “shouldn’t have.” After I escalated to Lowe’s Executive Customer Relations, another store manager refunded my cash and apologized.
On May 5, 2026, the same Barrett stopped me as I was leaving with a pallet of rock I had already paid for and subjected me to a detailed receipt inspection that I found unnecessarily suspicious.
On September 29, 2026, around 8:00 p.m., I waited in the appliance department to purchase a Whirlpool dishwasher. No employee was present. Another customer called down the aisle for employee Kent to come help me. Kent arrived, but after his phone call, he helped that customer instead. When I objected, Kent said the customer had “stopped him in the aisle.” I witnessed the interaction and know that was not what happened. The customer himself ultimately told Kent I should be helped first.
I left and purchased the dishwasher from Costco for the same $799 price Lowe’s quoted me. Costco included free delivery, installation and haul-away. Lowe’s had quoted me $258 in additional charges. Price was not why I left. The treatment was.
I filed complaints with Lowe’s Executive Customer Relations, Compliance, store management and the BBB. Lowe’s later said the matter was “closed,” without explaining what was investigated or what corrective action was taken.
After 22 years of loyalty, I no longer feel valued as a customer. I am documenting my experience because repeated complaints have not produced meaningful accountability.

We ordered an interior custom sized door in June 2026. It was going to take 70 days to get the door in stock. Late August it took multiple calls to confirm if they had received the door. Finally, I received a call and Lowes confirmed the door had been received and they would be notifying Install Partners to schedule the install and pick-up the door.
Today at the end of September, I received a text from the installer who was at the Lowes in Flower Mound. He inspected the package and found the package and door were damaged. He was going to notify Lowes so that the door could be reordered.
I tried to call Lowes and speak with someone in person, a manager about this problem. I never got to speak to someone other than customer service. The customer service people were nice and tried to be helpful.
I don't know if the door was damaged in shipping. Neither does Lowes know that because the package was not inspected when they received it to confirm if the contents was damaged during shipping.
I don't know if the damage was done at the Lowes in Flower Mound. Neither does Lowes know that because the package was not inspected when they received it at the end of August.
If it was received damaged, they could have found that a month ago and reordered back then.
What I do know is that the door will take another 70 days to come in. Then the installer will be notified and the install scheduled. I also know that we paid for the door, materials and the install back when the door was ordered. Three months later, we don't have a door, but Lowes has our money.
The communication system with Lowes is not good because so much of it was automated, from phones calls to online. I tried to call and speak with a manager at the store or within their company, but I was not able to speak with a manager.
Not a happy customer because the ball was dropped and no one at Lowes recognized there was a problem until the installer went to pick up the door three months later. Unacceptable.
Install Partners should be commended because they did their job right.

Do not buy carpet at Lowe’s it’s a total rip off. They were having half price sale for Labor Day so we decided to get a quote after receiving one from. Home Depot. When the guy came to measure he told us we needed 315 sq ft of carpet. I told him he was wrong and the he was removing 189 and that home Depot measured 215. I understand there is waste but not an extra 100 sf over Home Depot. And they were charging me for installing the waste, I called the salesmen at the store who said he would speak to the manager and call me back but that was 3 days ago. DO Not Buy here

These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. When you place an order, your payment method is authorized for the full amount of the purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s. Orders shipped in multiple shipments will be charged separately at time of shipment; therefore, you may see multiple charges, but they'll never exceed the full amount of your order. For orders with longer lead times, your method of payment will be reauthorized to ensure funds remain available until your item is shipped.
