The Quick Facts about Eyelid Surgery Length of Eyelid Surgery Procedure: 1 to 2 hours Anesthesia: Local, with sedation In or Outpatient Procedure: Varies An eyelid lift or eyelid surgery is one of most effective and least expensive minor surgical procedures you can have to improve the appearance of your face.* Bags under the eyes, drooping eyelids, or loose wrinkled skin can give you an old, tired, or sad appearance. Eyelid surgery is a common procedure that rejuvenates the area surrounding the eyes, to provide a more refreshed appearance.* Eyelid surgery is actually one of the most common procedures requested by men. Eyelid surgery can be performed on the upper and/or lower eyelids, depending on the result you would like to achieve and what Dr. Danyo recommends. Eyelid Surgery Provides Treatment For: Loose or sagging skin that creates folds or disturbs the natural contour of the upper eyelid, sometimes impairing vision Excess fatty deposits that appear as puffiness in the eyelids Bags under the eyes Drooping lower eyelids that reveal white below the iris Excess skin and fine wrinkles of the lower eyelid Sometimes the appearance of the eyelids are effected by the relaxation of the forehead or eyebrows, or stretching of eyelid muscles. Dr. Danyo will evaluate these areas to determine if there is an underlying cause for your eyelid appearance and formulate a corrective plan of action accordingly. Surgical Procedure An eyelid lift procedure begins with local anesthesia to your eyelid(s). An incision is made with appropriate placement for the best results possible. Any resulting scarring that may occur will be concealed within the natural folds of your eyelid or directly below your lower lash line.* For an upper eyelid lift: The incision is made within the natural crease of the eyelid. Any fat and excess skin may be removed, as well as muscles may be tightened. Lower eyelid surgery can be performed in two different ways, depending on the patient’s needs: An outer procedure, which we call a lower pinch, can be performed out-patient in our office. An inner lower eyelid procedure would be performed in our operating room. An incision is made below lower lash line, with excess fat being redistributed or removed. Any drooping skin and tissues from the cheek area can be lifted if needed. Incisions are usually closed with sutures, which will get removed at your check-up 3-5 days post procedure. Downtime & Recovery Downtime is usually minimal and may include swelling, bruising, or discomfort. Dr. Danyo will provide you with full aftercare instructions and any prescription medication you may need. Cold compresses and ointment may be used during healing, with sutures removed in 3-5 days.

The Quick Facts about Brow Lifts Length of Brow Lift Procedure: Varies, depending on method used Anesthesia: Local, with deep sedation In or Outpatient Procedure: Outpatient Wrinkles and frown lines often first appear in the forehead and brow area. A forehead lift or brow lift can reduce the horizontal wrinkle lines on the forehead & bridge of the nose and the frown lines between the eyebrows.* A forehead brow lift can also raise sagging eyebrows into a more alert and youthful position.* This procedure can be performed alone or in conjunction with other cosmetic procedures, such as a facelift, eyelid surgery, or laser skin resurfacing. Procedure Methods There are two methods to perform the procedure. THE OPEN METHOD During the open method, the incisions are placed behind the hairline, or just at the hairline if you have a very high forehead. Improvements are made to the muscles of the forehead and brow area then the skin and muscles are tightened to raise the eyebrows. THE CLOSED, ENDOSCOPIC METHOD Many patients today may be candidates for an endoscopic brow lift. Instead of making a large incision across the top of the head, several small incisions are made within the hairline and an endoscope camera and special instruments are used to perform the muscle work. The brow is then elevated and suspended with special anchoring sutures to hold the brow and forehead in the ideal position. With this approach, scarring, hair loss, and other minor drawbacks associated with the standard approach can be avoided. Schedule a consultation today! For additional information on a Brow Lift, visit the American Society of Plastic Surgeons for this procedure.

The Quick Facts about Fat Injection Length of Fat Injection Procedure: 1 to 3 hours Anesthesia: Local In or Outpatient Procedure: Inpatient Fat transfer injections have varied uses, such as to help provide fullness, enlarge a structure, revise contour irregularities, or improve some of the visible signs of aging.* Fat injections can: Create fuller lips* Create a fuller buttocks* Level out depressed scars* Fill out areas of excess fat removal from a previous liposuction* Minimize facial aging creases and deep wrinkles* During the procedure, fat is removed from one area of the body and then injected into the desired area(s). Schedule a consultation today.

The Quick Facts about Ear Surgery Length of Ear Surgery Procedure: 1 to 2 hours Anesthesia: Local, with sedation for adults; general for children In or Outpatient Procedure: Outpatient Ear Surgery, or Otoplasty, can change the shape, position, or size of ears. It is commonly performed to revise protruding or excessively large ears; this involves changing the framework of the ear cartilage – which modifies the way the skin drapes over it – and the overall appearance of the ear.* Otoplasty is usually performed through a small incision hidden on the back of the ear, near the crease. Once the incision is made, the cartilage is reshaped and the ear set back closer to the head to create the desired look.* The scar is normally inconspicuous and well-hidden after it has healed.* Schedule a consultation today! Procedures for Children Ear Surgery can be performed on adults and children. Children should wait until the ear has reached near full development at around age 5 or 6. By revising the ears before a child enters school, potential psychological trauma can be avoided.* For additional information on Ear Surgery (Otoplasty), visit the American Society of Plastic Surgeons for this procedure. * Disclaimer: Individual results may vary and specific results are not guaranteed.

BOTOX® Cosmetic Botox botulinum injections are a temporary nonsurgical procedure to relax wrinkles around the eyes and on the forehead. A Botox injection facial wrinkle treatment is ideal for the patient who would like to reduce “Crows Feet” (Lateral Canthal Wrinkles), Frown lines between eyebrows (Glabella), and Forehead Wrinkles (Transverse Forehead Rhytides). The wrinkles that respond best to Botox treatments are those that are caused by muscles, such as from frowning or squinting. XEOMIN® XEOMIN® is a prescription medication used to improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines (glabellar lines) between your eyes, forehead wrinkles (transverse forehead rhytides), and crows feet around your eyes (lateral canthal wrinkles).* XEOMIN® (incobotulinumtoxinA) contains botulinum toxin type A, a protein purified from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. By reducing contractions in your forehead and around your eyes, a XEOMIN® facial wrinkle treatment can reduce the deep lines and wrinkles that have formed and help prevent them from continuing to form.* DYSPORT® Dysport® (abobotulinumtoxinA) is a prescription injection for temporary improvement in the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults less than 65 years of age. Dysport treats moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows by reducing specific muscle activity. JEUVEAU® Jeuveau® (prabotulinumtoxinA-xvfs) is a facial wrinkle treatment prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults for a period of time (temporary). Jeuveau® prevents your nerves from telling your facial muscles to flex. JUVEDERM® XC JUVÉDERM® XC corrects moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the parentheses lines or “smile lines” around the nose and mouth. JUVÉDERM® XC facial filler is injected into areas of facial tissue where moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds occur to temporarily add volume to the skin, which may give the appearance of a smoother surface. VOLUMA™ XC JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC facial filler is designed to add volume beneath the skin’s surface, which provides lift and contour to the cheek area. By lifting the cheeks, noticeable improvements are also seen in the lower face. VOLLURE™ XC JUVÉDERM VOLLURE™ XC facial filler is injected into the areas of facial tissue where moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds occur. VOLBELLA® XC JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC facial filler injectable gel is for injection into the lips for lip augmentation and for correction of perioral lines, often called “lipstick lines” or “smoker lines”. BELOTERO BALANCE® BELOTERO BALANCE facial filler is an injectable filler that is used to smooth moderate to severe lines and wrinkles on your face. RADIESSE® RADIESSE® is a dermal filler that is used for smoothing moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds (the creases that extend from the corner of your nose to the corner of your mouth). RADIESSE® is also used for correcting volume loss in the back of the hands. REVANESSE® VERSA™ Revanesse® Versa™ is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler that can be used to treat moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. RESTYLANE® Restylane® can be used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. RESTYLANE® LYFT Restylane® Lyft is a safe, effective and dissolvable HA filler. Treatment can be administered in your hands and face at the same appointment — and can result in a more youthful-looking appearance. SCULPTRA® AESTHETIC Sculptra® Aesthetic (injectable poly-L-lactic acid) is indicated for use in people with healthy immune systems as a single regimen for the correction of shallow to deep nasolabial fold contour deficiencies and other facial wrinkles in which deep dermal grid pattern (cross-hatch) injection technique is appropriate. Hand Augmentation RADIESSE® RADIESSE® is a dermal filler to treat volume loss on the back of the hands. Submental Fat Reduction KYBELLA® KYBELLA® is an injectable to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (sub-mental fat), A.K.A. the “double chin”. Length of Procedure: About an hour Anesthesia: Local In or Outpatient Procedure: Inpatient Thinning hair is a very troubling condition that many women face. You may notice excess hair loss while you brush or shampoo, thinning areas of hair on the crown of your head, or a receding hairline. Danyo Plastic Surgery offers an amazing, safe solution to this common, yet overlooked condition.* PRP Hair Restoration is a new, non-surgical treatment that uses injections of your own natural Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) to stimulate dormant and thinning hair follicles to help regrow your hair. In a prospective study, PRP Hair Restoration has shown a significant reduction of hair loss; with the hair count being increased from the average number of 71 hair follicular units to 93 hair follicular units, with additional hair volume and coverage.* The Science of PRP PRP is your own natural Platelet Rich Plasma, containing growth factors, stem cells, and essential proteins. These components all play a critical biological role in the cell regeneration process and are provided at concentrated levels in PRP. PRP therapy has been used for decades in the Regenerative Medicine field for patients with arthritis, injuries, and various musculoskeletal problems. Now, PRP is being used for hair regeneration. Through inflammation resolution, cell replication, and cell metabolism, hair follicles in the injection sites are stimulated and regenerated. PRP changes inactive hair follicles – or newly implanted hair follicles – to their active phase, which promotes healthy hair growth and improved hair follicle thickness.* PRP CONTAINS PLATELETS AND STEM CELLS Platelets release numerous growth factors, including PDGF, TGF-β, VEGF, and SDF-1α30,33 that have been shown to orchestrate the key biological processes, including angiogenesis, inflammation resolution, and tissue regeneration. Stem cells are at the core of hair follicle stimulation and tissue regeneration process. Platelets release several growth factors, such as SDF-1α, that function to induce migration of stem cells to the damaged tissue. PRP specific growth factors that contribute to hair growth include: Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (PDGF)—promotes blood vessel growth, cell replication, skin formation. Transforming Growth-Factor-Beta (TGF-b)—promotes growth of matrix between cells, bone metabolism. Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF)—promotes blood vessel formation. Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)—promotes cell growth and differentiation, blood vessel formation, collagen formation. Fibroblast Growth Factor-2 (FGF-2)—promotes growth of specialized cells and blood vessel formation. Insulin Like Growth Factor – (IGF)—a regulator of normal physiology in nearly every type of cell in the body. PRP Hair Restoration Procedure Blood is drawn from your arm just as it would be at any Doctor’s office. Local anesthetic is administered to help ease discomfort. Your blood is processed in a centrifuge that separates your Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) from your white and red blood cells. Your PRP is precisely injected into your scalp and/or eyebrows. The remaining PRP is then topically massaged into the injection sites to secure as much growth enhancement as possible.* We offer PRP Hair Restoration as a two treatment procedure. These treatments are performed 6-8 weeks apart to ensure that you’ll receive the most benefit. Some patients may require additional treatments. PRP Hair Restoration treatments are always performed by our experienced Registered Nurse, Deborah Geary. PRP Hair Restoration Maintenance To maintain healthy hair growth with PRP Hair Restoration, we recommend participating in yearly maintenance.* Maintenance plays an important role in hair restoration; to further encourage hair follicles to stay active and strong.* PRP Hair Restoration maintenance at Danyo Plastic Surgery consists of a check-up every 12 months and additional PRP injections when needed. Results of PRP In a prospective study, PRP injections were given to 11 patients suffering from hair loss. A significant reduction of hair loss was observed, with the hair count being increased from the average number of 71 hair follicular units to 93 hair follicular units.* Global pictures also revealed a moderate improvement in hair volume and coverage.* Overall, patient satisfaction was high with a mean result rating of 7.0 on a scale of 1-10. Is PRP Hair Restoration Right For Me? Currently, our PRP Hair Restoration treatment is only suitable for women who experience thinning hair, a receding hairline, or the early stages of female pattern hair loss (FPHL).

The Quick Facts Length of Procedure: 30 to 60 minutes In or Outpatient Procedure: Outpatient About Microdermabrasion Microdermabrasion uses a stream of crystal to gently sand your skin, removing the uneven outer layer of the skin, unclogging your pores, and improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles through collagen stimulation.* Microdermabrasion skin science is evolving – as is the technology associated with it. MegaPeel® Microdermabrasion is a breakthrough, state of the art microdermabrasion system manufactured by DermaMed Solutions. An innovative device, combining the polishing action of crystals with the cleaning action of a vacuum, MegaPeel® transforms standard microdermabrasion into a controlled procedure conducted on the upper dermis. Even after one treatment, patients experience a significant change in skin texture.* CHEMICAL PEEL SKIN RESURFACING WITH MICRODERMABRASION MAY BE USED TO MINIMIZE THE APPEARANCE OF: Photo-damaged skin Congested skin, enlarged pores and blemishes Fine lines & wrinkles Acne and trauma scars Age spots Hyperpigmentation Aging hands Dull skin Oily skin Blackheads and whiteheads Cellulite stretch marks Crow’s feet At Danyo Plastic Surgery, we often combine chemical peels with microdermabrasion for an extremely effective skin resurfacing treatment.* For additional information on chemical peels or microdermabrasion, visit the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. * Disclaimer: Individual results may vary and specific results are not guaranteed.

The Quick Facts Length of Procedure: 60 to 180 minutes In or Outpatient Procedure: Outpatient About Chemical Peels Individuals with facial skin left scarred by acne, accidents or previous surgery can benefit from skin resurfacing. Skin resurfacing procedures can also help smooth out fine facial wrinkles, such as those around the mouth or to remove pre-cancerous growths called keratoses.* There are many methods available for skin resurfacing. Chemical peels use a caustic solution to remove the undesirable layer of skin, while dermabrasion scrapes them away. Laser, which is the latest technique, removes superficial skin by evaporating it. Each one of these techniques has advantages and disadvantages. During your initial consultation, we will evaluate your physical condition and needs to recommend the best option for you. Chemical peels vary depending on the type of solution used. All of the solutions dissolve the top layer of skin by a chemical reaction. Phenol, which is one of the oldest solutions used, is very effective in removing moderately deep wrinkles.* TCA, or Trichloroacidic acid, is a weaker acid, which is good for removing finer wrinkles.* Its strength can be adjusted by changing its concentration. Fruit acids or hydroxy acids, such as Glycolic and lactic acid are generally weaker acids derived from the naturally available fruit acids. Hydroxy peels, when done in a very light fashion, are called micro-peels. At Danyo Plastic Surgery, we often combine chemical peels with microdermabrasion for an extremely effective skin resurfacing treatment.* For additional information on chemical peels or microdermabrasion, visit the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. * Disclaimer: Individual results may vary and specific results are not guaranteed.

The Quick Facts about Vein Treatment Length of Vein Treatment Procedure: 15 to 45 minutes Anesthesia: None In or Outpatient Procedure: Outpatient About Spider & Varicose Veins Spider veins, or telangiectasia, are a group of tiny, dilated blood vessels that often develop in the face and legs of many people as they age. Spider veins are usually difficult to camouflage with makeup or stockings, and for that reason many seek treatment. Varicose veins are veins that become swollen with pooled blood due to weak or damaged vein valves. Varicose veins can develop due to genetics, aging, gender, pregnancy, obesity, lack of movement, or physical trauma. Many people seek treatment for varicose veins due to medical problems or for cosmetic purposes. Most spider veins & varicose veins are benign and won’t cause any medical problems, but it’s always best to consult with a doctor if you are concerned. Spider & Varicose Vein Procedure Methods Treatment for spider veins has evolved over the years, now focusing on two methods: lasers and sclerotherapy. The method most appropriate for your circumstance depends on a variety of factors, including the size and location of the veins.* LASER TREATMENT FOR SPIDER VEINS As laser technology has improved, spider veins of the face can often be treated with minimal or no bruising at all. The underlying spider veins are effectively removed in one or two brief sessions while the overlying skin is left undamaged, avoiding the need for any recovery time.* In most cases, people are able to return to work and their usual activities immediately following the treatment. SCLEROTHERAPY TREATMENT FOR VARICOSE VEINS Larger veins of the legs are treated by sclerotherapy. This rather simple procedure involves injecting a solution into the varicose veins using a very fine gauge needle. This solution causes the veins to collapse and fade.* In addition to the cosmetic benefit, it may also remedy the uncomfortable symptoms associated with varicose veins, including aching, burning, swelling and night cramps.*

The Quick Facts Length of Procedure: 20 to 30 minutes Anesthesia: Topical or Cooling Gel In or Outpatient Procedure: Outpatient What is IPL? Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology uses a broad spectrum of light to delicately target and reduce melanin, excess pigment in the skin. This broad spectrum of light is quickly emitted from a hand piece in short pulses onto the surface of skin. IPL therapy is non-invasive and should not harm the surface of the skin at all. While penetrating deep into the epidermis, IPL energy precisely treats a variety of skin conditions, such as vascular & pigmented lesions, capillaries, photo aging, and more. IPL Phototherapy for Pigmented & Vascular Lesions, Capillaries, Rosacea, and Aging Skin Areas of pigment are gently heated by short pulses of light energy, being absorbed by the blood in vascular lesions or capillaries, or by the melanin in pigment. The temperature in these highly-concentrated areas of melanin or vascular pigment is raised, shattering the cells that contain excess pigment. The body then begins it’s natural process of repairing the injured cells, eliminating the pigment, and replacing this area with new, younger skin cells.* Many Conditions Are Treated with IPL Phototherapy Age Spots Brown Spots Sun Spots Sun Damage Freckles Birthmarks Capillaries Pigmented Lesions Vascular Lesions Rosacea IPL Phototherapy Treatment IPL treatments are quick and very effective, with minimal pain and no downtime.* Depending on the pigmented area, treatments can take only 15-20 minutes. Some patients report a stinging pain similar to a rubber band snap, while other patients experience no pain. After the treatment is finished, there is no pain or downtime. We will customize the IPL treatment to skin type and condition, providing the most safe and effective treatment possible. For some pigment such as dark lesions, a series of IPL treatments may be recommended, while other pigmented areas can be treated with just one treatment. Many patients see an improvement the same day as treatment, with the pigmented area fading or disappearing completely.* Why IPL Phototherapy? Reduce the signs of aging skin, sun damage, birth marks, capillaries, rosacea, and more* Quick 20-minute procedure “No downtime” procedure makes it perfect for lunch breaks or during mid-day errands Treatment is customized to your skin and condition IPL is very effective, with some patients only needing one treatment to achieve desireable results* Patients see continued effects over time* Private Consultation Patients are always welcome to come in for a private consultation! The Quick Facts Length of Procedure: 15-30 minutes per area Anesthesia: None In or Outpatient Procedure: Outpatient Body Shaping, Skin Tightening & Facial Rejuvenation Exilis is a safe and effective treatment that tightens the skin of your face, neck, and body.* Exilis also provides additional anti-aging results such as wrinkle treatment through new collagen growth.* This FDA approved treatment uses radio frequency energy to deliver non-invasive, controlled heat, 1-3cm under the skin and into the underlying fat layer. During the Exilis treatment collagen is tightened and renewed through a biochemical signal in the tissue.* The radio frequency energy and deep thermal heating cause the current collagen to disperse. The body’s natural healing process then creates new, tighter collagen. New collagen should naturally provide tighter skin with the potential of fewer wrinkles.* Virtually Painless Treatment Exilis treatments are virtually painless and cause no downtime. Common areas of treatment include the eye area, around the mouth, chin area, jaw line, décolleté, abdomen, back, arms, legs, knees and “cankles”. If maximal tissue tightening is the goal, then a series of 2-6 Exilis treatments at 1-2 week intervals would be ideal. Each treatment session requires approximately 15 minutes per area. Many patients report results after just 1 treatment!* During your consultation we can discuss an optimal treatment plan for you. Schedule a private consultation online or contact us to learn more! * Disclaimer: Individual results may vary and specific results are not guaranteed.

Breast Procedures

The Quick Facts about Breast Reconstruction Length of Breast Reconstruction Procedure: 1 to 3 hours Anesthesia: General In or Outpatient Procedure: Inpatient or outpatient (varies) Breast reconstruction is one of the most rewarding plastic surgery procedures. It is usually performed to reconstruct breast tissue or a breast removed due to cancer. There are a variety of techniques that can be employed, including: Insertion of a breast implant. Placement of tissue expanders – a temporary implant that is inflated over time, stretching out the skin and is then followed by the insertion of an implant. Tissue transfer – using tissue such as from the abdomen, back or even buttock. This technique is very extensive and entails greater risk including failure and the frequent need for multiple revisions. Often, reconstruction is possible immediately following a mastectomy. This avoids the emotional pain of a woman seeing herself without a breast. Depending on the technique and extent of the reconstruction, one to several procedures may need to be done in order to obtain the final result. There are also techniques available to reconstruct a new nipple that can give pleasing results.* Whether your goal is to reconstruct your breasts following cancer surgery, revise developmentally misshapen breasts, or to alter the appearance after pregnancy or age, we can assist you in obtaining the desired result.* Schedule a consultation today! For additional information on breast reconstruction, visit the American Society of Plastic Surgeons for this procedure. * Disclaimer: Individual results may vary and specific results are not guaranteed.

The Quick Facts about Breast Augmentations Length of Mammaplasty Procedure: 1 to 3 hours Anesthesia: General In or Outpatient Procedure: Usually inpatient Post OP: View Post-Op Instructions Breast augmentation, or augmentation mammaplasty, is a surgical procedure to enhance the size and shape of a woman’s breasts. This commonly performed procedure is carefully tailored to each woman. Our surgeons match both the woman’s preference for size and shape, as well as her stature and size during our Breast augmentation procedures in Delaware. During your initial consultation, we will evaluate your health and determine which surgical technique is most appropriate for you. If your breasts are sagging, we may also discuss a breast lift. During the breast augmentation procedure, an implant is inserted through an incision made under the crease under the breast, around the areola (dark tissue around the nipple), or through the armpit. The implant is then placed beneath the chest wall muscle. We take special care to assure that the incision scar will be as subtle and unnoticeable as possible. Breast implants are available in both silicone and saline, however silicone is the preferred method by most doctors and patients. Whether your goal is to revise developmentally misshapen breasts, to enlarge the breast size, to alter the appearance after pregnancy or age, or to enhance one’s self appearance, we can assist you in obtaining the desired result.* Schedule a consultation today!

The Quick Facts about Breast Reduction Length of Breast Reduction Procedure: 2 to 3 hours Anesthesia: Local, with sedation, or general In or Outpatient Procedure: Usually outpatient Breast reduction surgery, or reduction mammoplasty, is designed to reduce the size of the breasts and create a more attractive breast shape and form. Large breasts can cause a woman breast, back, shoulder, and neck pain, posture problems, shoulder grooves from bra straps, and skin rashes under the breasts. Women with extremely large breasts often also suffer emotional embarrassment and are limited in a number of physical activities. The goal is to make the breast size more proportional to the rest of the body, and relieve physical and emotional discomforts. This procedure removes excess skin, fat, and glandular tissue, resulting in smaller, lighter and firmer breasts that are better-shaped in proportion to the rest of the body.* Predefined incisions are made on the breast, and excess skin, fat, and glandular tissue are removed. The nipple is then elevated to its new position on the breast mound, and the remaining tissues are closed around it. Some liposuction of adjacent areas may be performed at the same time to improve the shape of the new breast. Schedule a consultation today! For additional information on breast reduction, visit the American Society of Plastic Surgeons for this procedure. * Disclaimer: Individual results may vary and specific results are not guaranteed.

Body Procedures

The Quick Facts about Tummy Tucks Length of Tummy Tuck Procedure: 2 to 4 hours Anesthesia: General In or Outpatient Procedure: Usually outpatient Post OP: View Post-Op Instructions Known commonly as the “tummy tuck,” abdominoplasty is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat from the abdomen. The procedure also helps to flatten the abdomen by tightening the surrounding muscles.* If you are in relatively good shape but are concerned by fatty deposits or loose abdominal skin that won’t respond to diet or exercise, this procedure can dramatically reduce a protruding abdomen.* Abdominoplasty can be particularly helpful to women with stretched abdominal areas due to previous pregnancies.* Older individuals whose skin has lost some of its elasticity and are slightly obese may also benefit from a tummy tuck.* During the procedure, the skin and fatty deposits on the abdomen are removed. The weak, bulging abdominal muscles are tightened to help flatten and strengthen the abdomen.* The excess skin is redistributed to cover the entire abdomen, resulting in a tighter, flatter abdomen.* The surgery can produce a scar, although the scar will likely be located below the bikini or bathing suit line and may fade over time. For additional information on Tummy Tuck / Abdominoplasty, visit the American Society of Plastic Surgeons for this procedure. * Disclaimer: Individual results may vary and specific results are not guaranteed.

The Quick Facts about Arm Lifts Length of brachioplasty Procedure: 1 to 2 hours Anesthesia: Local and general In or Outpatient Procedure: Outpatient Post OP: View Post-Op Instructions An arm lift (brachioplasty) surgery is a surgical technique that removes, remodels, and tightens the excess skin and tissue of the upper arm. Often times an arm lift procedure is performed on patients with significant weight loss or those who underwent gastric bypass surgery. However, it can be performed on men or women without significant weight loss. Patients with a “bat wing” deformity struggle with their arm’s appearance and become increasingly self-conscience about the way they look. The goal of an arm lift is to alleviate the physical and emotional concerns by making the upper arm(s) proportionate to the body. Predefined incisions are made in the crease of the axilla or longitudinally along the inner arm depending on the amount of tissue resection needed. In addition, liposuction is a commonly used adjunct in removing fat from the arm(s), making the skin resection easier. For additional information on an arm lift, visit the American Society of Plastic Surgeons for this procedure. Disclaimer: Individual results may vary and specific results are not guaranteed.

Length of Procedure: Varies with amount of tissue being removed Anesthesia: Local, with sedation, regional, or general In or Outpatient Procedure: Outpatient Liposuction, also called lipoplasty or suction assisted lipectomy, removes deposits of excess fat from specific areas of your body. For example, it can slim your hips and thighs, flatten your abdomen, reshape your waist, or treat a double chin.* Liposuction is particularly well suited for men and women who have relatively normal weight but isolated areas of fat that cause their body to appear disproportionate. These localized fat deposits may sometimes be an inherited trait and typically do not respond to diet and exercise. Liposuction is often the only way to treat them.* Through a tiny incision, a narrow tube or cannula is inserted and used to vacuum the fat layer that lies deep beneath the skin. The cannula is pushed then pulled through the fat layer, breaking up the fat cells and suctioning them out. There are several liposuction techniques that can be used to improve the ease of the procedure and to enhance outcome. These include ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty (UAL), the tumescent technique, and the super-wet technique. For additional information on Liposuction, visit the American Society of Plastic Surgeons for this procedure. * Disclaimer: Individual results may vary and specific results are not guaranteed.

There are many implants that are used in the specialty of plastic and reconstructive surgery. Breast implants are the most common, however, there is a multitude of others that are designed to revise, augment, or enhance a person’s appearance.* Whether it’s for the face or the body, the goal is to create balance and proportion.* Implant surgery can be performed in conjunction with another procedure or performed alone. During your consultation, we will collaborate with you to determine which options are best to achieve your goals.* Below is a list of surgeries we perform here at Danyo Plastic Surgery. Facial Implants Cheek (Malar) Chin Jaw Nose Temporal Body Implants Breast Calf Chest (Pectoral)

The Quick Facts about Male Breast Reductions Length of Male Breast Reduction Procedure: 1 1/2 to 2 hours Anesthesia: Local, with sedation, or general In or Outpatient Procedure: Usually outpatient Post OP: View Post-Op Instructions Gynecomastia surgery, is a surgical technique used to remove the benign breast or glandular tissue from the chest of men. Men with excess glandular/breast tissue often suffer psychological distress and are self-conscience of their body and appearance. The goal is to make the chest proportional to the body and alleviate physical and emotional concerns. Predefined incisions are made on the chest and excess fat and glandular tissue is removed. Sometimes, if there is a significant amount of skin, skin excision and tightening may be required. Corrective surgery can be accomplished with liposuction alone or in conjunction with skin and tissue resection. Schedule a consultation today! For additional information on male breast reduction, or Gynecomastia surgery, visit the American Society of Plastic Surgeons for this procedure.
