Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Being from Texas, Whataburger is part of life. I understand why there have been a few Whataburger’s that have closed in the Tennessee market…the service is HORRIBLE. This one in East Nashville is brand new and each time I’ve been here, the place is filthy, the service is horrendous, the people working the counter don’t know what they are doing and treat you like your bothering them by being there. Good luck lasting a year. You are tarnishing the Whataburger brand.

This location went straight to Hell after the Texas trainers left. Especially the evening/overnight staff.
They can’t read special requests on online orders. I’ve even waited an actual 50 min (time placed order, arrived 8 min after placed, to time left equaled 50 min) while orders coming in after us were getting food without waiting. The manager at night and staff argue with you saying that’s now what I ordered. Yet I’ll show them on the actual receipt on the bag. Then they say you’re the one who’s being argumentative. This happened twice at the Drive In location. We now just go to the Madison or Hermitage locations like before, since the East Nashville Store can’t hire any employees that can read or have any customer service skills. When they Friday opened and the Texas trainers were there, this store ran like a well oiled machine, and was excited to finally have a great running place in East Nashville. That lasted 1 week.
I can’t say the food or atmosphere is bad, it 100%!falls on the management team and the staff.

The woman working the drive through July 4th at 1:00 a.m. with glasses, red braids, and walking with a limp/hobble was EXTREMELY RUDE and had an angry/hostile attitude. She kept interrupting during the order and then got the order wrong - she was so rude we didn’t even bother correcting her. She was outside yelling, inside yelling and cursing, and didn’t greet or thank us. The absolute worst customer service i’ve ever seen and a poor representation of who the company wants as the face of a new restaurant.

First time to this Whataburger East Nashville location. We will never go again! Ordered two Biscuit breakfast sandwiches. The sausage was not cooked on either biscuit (pale gray color 🤮). The bottom of one biscuit was hard/stale. Now let’s talk about the service…it was pathetic. One guy saw us when we came in and immediately dodged out of site. The girl working was at the drive through door but no car was in line. She never acknowledged us. She finally came over to the register…never smiled nor greeted us. We could barely understand her as she mumbled. The owner of this location needs to read the reviews and do something as management obviously doesn’t care. This will not survive long; we wondered why it always looked empty, now we know!

Like almost all other fast food restaurants in the East Nashville area, this Whataburger location is the worst in town. It must be the labor pool in this area. If we have a taste for any of the fast food offerings on Gallatin or Dickerson, between Briley and downtown, we drive to the next nearest location. We were hoping Whataburger would be different, but nope.
I placed an app order around 11:00PM on a Thursday. When I arrived shortly after placing the order, both lanes were backed up near the entrance/exit. The lines were moving so slow, customers were getting out of their car and asking others to back up so they could leave.
When I finally made it to the menu, someone else’s order began popping up on the screen. After several minutes of being ignored, I pulled forward, hoping I could tell the team member at the window that I had an app order. A few minutes later, they began taking the order of the car behind me.
After the insanely long wait, I was now in a hurry to get where I needed to be. I stupidly drive off without checking my order. Of course, they shorted me a burger. The dinning room was closed, and there was no way I was getting back in that line so they could make it right.
