  Time in and time out amazing food with consistency and quality. Our go to bartender Miles is personable and makes us feel special every-time we walk through the door. (The new guy Mick makes a bomb sangria, and has 4 kids to feed yall go support him) play girl roll and lobster spaghetti are must haves. And don’t leave without atleast one Hotate. (Also they have real wasabi upon request)

  My boyfriend and I had one of the best sushi experiences ever here. The ambience was romantic and relaxed yet high vibes and welcoming! The food was brought out in a timely manner, everything was unique and delicious! Our waiter was extremely attentive and kind, and brought us some rock shrimp to try, since it was our first time, which was easily some of the best “boom-boom” shrimp I have eaten. The lychee martini was delicious- best I’ve ever had. The salmon crispy rice was a flavorful experience and we thoroughly enjoyed the tennessee two step and shogun rolls. If I were a nashville resident, this place would be somewhere I would frequent, but I will have to wait for our next trip to experience this again! 10/10

  ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The FOOD ultimately saved this experience because the sushi was AMAZING, and the fresh tacos were absolutely delicious! Unfortunately, the experience didn’t start off nearly as well. We were headed to the airport and specifically needed somewhere we could grab a good meal and some attention since we drove 2hrs from out of town and were starting our official VACATION MODE. The restaurant wasn’t anywhere close to full, there was no wait to be seated, and yet after sitting at the sushi bar for about 20 minutes, no one had acknowledged us. We eventually moved from the table to the liquor bar hoping to get a little more attention, but overall it took about 20–25 minutes after walking in before we really felt recognized and accommodated. We were actually VERY close to leaving and finding somewhere else. Thankfully, once one of the bartender recognized us, the experience completely turned around. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome and gave us some extra attention, which I truly appreciated after such a rocky beginning. And then came the FOOD! 🙌🏾 The sushi was incredibly fresh and delicious, and the tacos did not disappoint either. By the end, we were very pleased with what we ordered. Would I go back? MOST DEFINITELY. The food earned another visit. But considering the price point, I would definitely expect a greater attention to the level of service and attentiveness from the moment I walk through the door. Amazing food, a bartender who recovered the experience beautifully, but that first impression and initial service could definitely use some improvement.

  Having dined at many sushi restaurants across LA, SF, and NYC, this was quite the unexpected delight. Perhaps the best maki we’ve ever had. Incredibly fresh ingredients and top notch service- rivaling that of Michelin starred restaurants. Waiter Mike C was fantastic.

  O-KU Germantown, Nashville – I’ll Be Back for the Vibe This was a genuinely nice night. The music set the tone immediately, and sitting at the bar with Shalik made the whole place feel personal instead of performative. He was attentive without hovering and actually talked like a person. I left feeling like I’d spent time somewhere, not just eaten somewhere. That’s why I’ll come back—even if just for the social side. O-KU is at 81 Van Buren Street in Germantown. I had the mango chicken (great) and the frozen ice cream (also great). Service at the bar was on point. Music was excellent. Two issues stood out: management presence felt heavy—like everyone was being watched. It’s not rude, just intense. And parking: $32 for one hour. When the lot costs more than the meal, that’s a problem. The restaurant does not control that lot; it’s metered/private nearby. 4.1/5. Food and bartender carried it. Atmosphere and music helped. The “being watched” feeling and the parking price keep it from going higher. Still a place I’d return to, especially if I’m meeting someone or just want a good bar conversation. Book a bar seat and ask for Shalik if he’s working. Go for the mango chicken and dessert. Be app readiness for parking or walk from a cheaper spot if you can. O-KU: keep the hospitality, ease up on the surveillance energy, and flag the parking reality for guests so it doesn’t surprise them. I’ll be back.
