At Edley’s Bar-b-que we treat everyone who walks through the door like an old family friend. We pride ourselves with not taking any shortcuts in the kitchen. Our meats are smoked low and slow using Southern white oak. The sides are made from scratch daily with the same amount of attention. Everything is done with intention, from the food to the service to the music. We strive to serve the best food we can make and prove ourselves a worthy host—one plate at a time. Guest favorites include our brisket, macaroni and cheese, banana pudding, and our famous boozy milkshake, the Bushwacker. We are open lunch and dinner with a full-bar, and we offer catering for weddings, rehearsal dinners, corporate lunches, family reunions, and more.
I love coming here we are truck drivers and every time we come in town even though we live an hour away we HAVE to stop in especially if Mama Clara is there. We look for her gold car out front and when we see it we know our experience is going to be A+. Love her and love this bbq

This is another respectable outlet of this local barbecue joint. The fried okra here is really good! And the mac and cheese is unusually intriguing with subtleties of maybe peppers and even something slightly sweet in the crispy breadcrumb topping. It’s pleasantly complex.
I think the best dish at the Donelson Edley’s is the brisket. Some of those cuts have the perfect balance of a salty, fatty edge and hearty, smoky meat. The worst dish is certainly the ribs. They’re extremely dry, even with barbecue sauce, and don’t have a good flavor at all. But Edley’s is a good addition to what was once a pretty desolate food scene in Donelson. Thank heavens they moved in!

Edley's Bar-B-Que was a great stop for a family meal in Nashville. The restaurant has a fun, lively atmosphere with great décor, music, and plenty of energy from the moment you walk in. Even though it was busy, the staff was friendly and helpful, making the experience smooth and enjoyable.
The food was excellent, with flavorful barbecue, tasty wings, and desserts that made the meal even better. Everything felt fresh, satisfying, and full of classic Nashville barbecue flavor. The ordering setup is easy once you know how it works, and the overall experience is well worth it. Edley's is definitely a place I would recommend and visit again.

Bias alert: I live in the Dallas area and I'm used to Texas style BBQ. This is my first BBQ I've had in Tennessee. I chose this place due to the reviews.
Brisket and Rib platter:
Brisket had great smoke flavor. Although it was pretty dry. I'm used to thick cuts of juicy brisket (maybe it's a Texas thing) which I was surprised at how thinly sliced the brisket was. Definitely needed BBQ sauce. I view brisket like I do a good steak. A good steak shines by itself without steak sauce. A bad steak needs lots of A1 sauce. This brisket needed lots of BBQ sauce.
Ribs were cool upon arrival and seemed to have been sitting out for a while. Good flavor overall. I just wished they were juicy.
Coleslaw was tangy and sweet. Very unique coleslaw. I actually found it to be refreshing to the palate.
Potato salad was average.
Nachos with Brisket. When I ordered this I was envisioning lots of chopped brisket on top of the nachos. There was so little brisket on top (see photo). Maybe I should have requested extra brisket. Overall nachos were pretty good.
Unlike other reviews of the cornbread mine was very dry. I took a bite chewed and had to sip water to moisten my throat so I could swallow it. I was so looking forward to warm moist cornbread based on previous reviews. Unfortunately, the cornbread made my mouth into the Sahara desert.
Solid three stars based on my preference for brisket. Maybe for those who prefer ribs this would be a very good BBQ restaurant.
