Built inside a 1929 mansion that presumably once was financed by Al Capone, the restaurant serves a menu of traditional gourmet dishes including Brie en Croute, Blackened Salmon Oscar and Black Thai Duck. The mansion that houses the restaurant was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997 and still features the original escape hatches and underground tunnels that were used by Capone to transfer liquor during the Prohibition Era. In 2001, High Point received the "Best Gourmet Meal in Tennessee" award from "Tennessee" magazine.

- DBDavid & Lisa Benefield5 days ago5.0Traveling through Monteagle, we found this gem. We shared a most delicious meal. Steak (cooked to perfection), brussel sprouts, squash, pesto sauce, salad and home baked rolls were spot on. They were super friendly and welcomed our service dog.

Katie provided excellent service. If we are ever back in this area, High Point will be on the must do list.

We thought that the prices were reasonable for fine dining. The service and staff were excellent, and the menu was broad enough to have great options, while not being overwhelming. We enjoyed a bottle of red wine, and we noticed some nice cocktails that we may try next time. Strongly recommended, and reservations are a must.
