This place is fantastic! I’ve been here three times while working in the area. The staff is amazing, and the food is just as good. Our waitress Carie was amazing each time!

I stopped on my way home from work. I was pretty excited to get some chicken livers! My order included two sides. I chose french fries & fried okra. Every bite of each item left me more & more disappointed. The flavor of everything was just "off." I have a long history of managing restaurants, and I pretty certain that I know exactly why my food had a flavor that was just "wrong." Everything tasted like it had been fried in very OLD oil. I would suggest that you change your fryer oil a little more often.

It was a special treat when we visited The Local Restaurant today in LaFollette, TN. We had the pleasure of meeting Carie Ferra Hale who was our server. She recommended great menu items which were delicious. The cheeseburger was huge - really enough to share and so tasty. Carie loves to sing and agreed to sing for us. She sat down with my wife at the table and sang Because He Lives. Carie has a beautiful voice and is happy to sing if you just ask. I hope you will make a point to go by and have lunch and meet Carie. I guarantee you'll enjoy it. GR & VR

The staff were rude. One server spoke loudly, complaining about how much of a tip her table left her while we and another table were still dining. They were close to closing, but it was still very rude. Other than our server not refilling our drinks, everything was pretty good until we went to leave after my husband paid. My husband paid for our meal and a piece of cheesecake. He was going to let me pick out which cake I wanted and went ahead and took our baby to the car. I finished gathering our stuff and our other child to leave, went to pick out our cheesecake that he had just paid for, and our server was at the register and put her hands up as if to grab the cheesecake from me. She tried to argue with me that my husband had already gotten the cheesecake. I told her he hadn't and had told me to grab it on my way out. She rolled her eyes and was very rude. I felt so uneasy about how she acted over it after she had seemed so nice while she served us. I almost feel like she flipped her mood after we paid her. I’m not sure what the deal was. She could have just counted their inventory or something before she accused and argued with a customer over a paid-for cheesecake. I wish we had just left the cheesecake there and gotten our money back. We aren’t local. I just know we will never be back there. Before all this, we had talked about coming back when we pass through again. Her attitude toward me over a cheesecake we paid for ruined the entire experience there. I’m not sure who the manager is, but I did hear her call one of the ladies working there “mom.” I usually don’t care enough to leave a review like this, but I feel led to this time.
