I had heard from two friends that Johnny Brusco’s had great New York-style pizza, so I decided to give it a try today. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience from the moment I sat down.
I was seated outside, where I could clearly see into the kitchen through the glass doors. I watched the employee preparing my salad scratch himself and continue handling food without wearing gloves. If customers are going to have a direct view into the kitchen, I would suggest either ensuring food safety standards are consistently followed or installing some type of privacy film on the glass.
I sent the salad back, and moments later, our server, Abby, walked into the kitchen and loudly said, “You guys need to be wearing gloves!” While I appreciated her addressing the issue, it’s concerning that she had to do so at all.
As for the pizza, I was expecting a New York-style slice and was left disappointed. The sauce had good flavor, but there wasn’t nearly enough of it. It lacked the thin, foldable, slightly greasy characteristics that make New York-style pizza so iconic. I was hoping for that delicious grease-dripping-off-the-tip-of-the-slice moment, and it just wasn’t there.
I don’t enjoy leaving negative reviews, but food safety is non-negotiable. Between the kitchen practices I witnessed and the pizza falling short of what was advertised, I don’t know if I see myself returning.

First off, I really like this place. When they first opened it was very meh, but under new ownership it has gotten better.
What bothers me is this. I placed a pickup order at 1:30pm to pickups between 6:20 and 6:30.
My wife arrives at 6:35 to pickup the order and is told that she's 10 minutes early. 6:55 rolls around and still no pizza.
If you're busy, that's fine, I get it. But telling customers that they're early when they're not, simply because you're backed up is a problem for me. Don't blame my wife for "being early" when in fact you're late.

Went during lunch last week, poor waitress that's pregnant was covering the whole restaurant by herself! Food was good, but the big disappointment was the crust was hard as a rock! Couldn't get the last bite that makes a NY pizza great! The calzone was way over cooked and hard as a rock at the ends!

Unlike this Karen below the eggplant, Parm is absolutely delicious. All the food here is absolutely delicious. Somebody clearly was just having a bad day. Staff is always great Lisa and Abby are amazing. This is a must try and a must repeat. Too much good stuff

So tonight, we gave this place the third and final shot. I would just like to state that I am a professional chef and have a culinary degree. The thing that irks me the most about this place is you can tell that the employees are not trained. Every single time we call to place a to go order, the employee on the phone (Last time, Male… Tonight, a female) Have no idea what we’re talking about. About two or three weeks ago, we ordered two eggplant subs/heroes. The Male employee told me That they don’t do that. I informed him that I’ve ordered it before. He checked with somebody and lo and behold, They do it. Tonight, I ordered two eggplant dinners, and a medium pizza. I was told they don’t do eggplant dinners. I told the female that I have ordered it before. She goes and checks, and no surprise, they can do it. Not only is this really crappy training, but these employees are essentially turning down money and turning away people possibly due to their lack of knowledge. To get into the food, the sauce was horrible, the eggplant dinner consisted of one slice of egg eggplant that was rubbery. Everything is extremely overpriced, considering the low quality that you get. And I have other complaints, but why bore people further… And with that, I will never be returning.
