My review should be raving… ever since finding out about fearless, I have always supported them, even taking the time to highlight them on my TikTok as a hidden local gem. However, the treatment that I have received from the staff in the past few months has been so off putting that I have contemplated never coming back despite my love for their breakfast tacos. Back in the spring, they had a latte called the coastline latte. It was so amazing that they even memorialized it with a picture in their shop. The first time I came back and saw that this was no longer an option, I obviously asked for something similar because it was my favorite latte I had ever had. Instead of being met with willingness to try and duplicate the product, I was met with hostility, as if I should not even be asking for it. You would have thought I had grown two heads. I was essentially told “tough” and that there was no was I could get it. No offer to make something similar. No light heartedness about it being gone. Literal hostility. No worries, I moved on and selected something off of their summer menu. It was lackluster in comparison. As a business professional, I frequent coffee shops and due to the coastline latte and their breakfast tacos, Fearless had become my favorite. My issues now is HOW I have been treated when I request it to come back (jokingly saying “this is my petition to bring back the coastline latte”). I am talked to as if I should not have the audacity to even ask for it, request it, want it, etc. today getting my head bit off with, “it’s seasonal and you can ask but you won’t get it until the Spring.” The response is not cordial, no actual explanation as to why it’s gone or can’t be made again. I’m just met with hostility and nastiness by the staff. And the issue is, it’s multiple different staff members snapping at me when I make the request (again a light hearted joke). So, I’m thinking it’s a standard to treat your customers like crap at this point. A simple explanation as to why it’s gone or a chuckle at the petition joke is all that is needed. But, they snap my head off every single time and it’s unnecessary. Maybe I should stop asking but I do want them to know how desired the product is and potentially make it a full time menu item. I understand wanting variety but I also appreciate consistency. As a (used to be) regular patron, who brings others for meetings, I would think my opinion would be valued a little more than what it has been. I’ll just take my business to another coffee shop in the area at this point, because there are many fabulous ones including Open Door, Blues Brews, Stillwater’s, etc. If you made it this far, you can expect good (overpriced) food, mediocre drinks (unless it’s the unattainable Coastline Latte) and extremely rude baristas. Do better Fearless.
