  Just had my first meal at Budare. It is fantastic and I would highly recommend it. The staff is super friendly and helpful with the menu. They make great suggestions and help you understand what the food is like if you have any questions. They also have a wide selection of fresh juices and they are all delicious. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. Everything is fresh and delicious.

  I went with a girlfriend & we really enjoyed the whole experience. The owners were wonderful & explained everything on the menu to us as we had never eaten Venezuelan food before. The food was fresh & freshly made. They have a yogurt cilantro/garlic sauce that's yummy (could be sour cream not yogurt). Also have a jalapeno/zucchini sauce that's really good, but not quite spicy enough for me. I have to say that I grew up eating very spicy food so it might be spicy for others & I realize not every cuisine is meantime be spicy. We ordered a sampler plate & I'm now realizing I should have written this review while there cause I can't remember the names of everything, lol, sorry! The sweet plantain was very delicious as well as the empanadas. I ordered an arepas but by the time we got through the sampler & the pastito there was no room left in my tummy. I'll have what I'm sure will be a great lunch today. It is simply but nicely decorated. It is located in an sort of an out of the way place on a one way street, but you'll really miss out if you let that stop you. Because I've never eaten Venezuelan food before I have no baseline by which to compare it, but it was very good. My friend said she definitely wants to go back & I will too. Sorry I walkways forget to take pic. I'll try to remember the next time.

  Acabo de ir a comer a este restaurante y quiero aclarar primero que la comida es deliciosa. Los platillos son excelentes, tienen muy buen sazón y el lugar es bastante cómodo y agradable. Sin embargo, la atención fue pésima, muy pésima. Y quiero decir algo que me dejó muy incómodo: si eres latino, el trato no es el mismo que reciben los ciudadanos americanos. Y si eres venezolano, lamentablemente la atención se siente aún peor. Lo digo con respeto, porque los venezolanos somos personas alegres, amigables y trabajadoras. Cuando vemos a otro paisano, normalmente tratamos de dar la mejor atención posible, no de hacer sentir mal a nadie. Además, noté que a nosotros nos hicieron ir hasta la caja para hacer el pedido y pagar de una vez, mientras que a otros clientes que estaban en el lugar sí los atendían directamente en la mesa. Eso deja mucho que pensar. Y quiero agregar algo importante: ya he venido a este restaurante en varias ocasiones y anteriormente ya había sentido este mismo trato, pero sinceramente me negaba a aceptarlo o a pensar mal. Sin embargo, después de lo vivido hoy, terminé dándome cuenta de que sí existe una diferencia en la manera en que tratan a los venezolanos, incluso viniendo de sus mismos paisanos. Y eso es lo más triste de todo. Y quiero aclarar algo importante: esto no lo digo desde ningún sentimiento de inferioridad hacia los ciudadanos americanos, jamás. Todos merecemos el mismo respeto y el mismo trato. Si la atención es buena para unos, debe ser igual para todos.

  We almost missed Budare entirely — just a quick stop off the highway — and what a mistake that would have been! We both went for the Pabellón, one with chicken and one with pork, and honestly we could not have been happier. The flavors were incredible, everything perfectly balanced, and it felt like a real home-cooked Venezuelan meal done with serious skill. What really made the experience special was the owners themselves. They were right there, genuinely invested in making sure we enjoyed every bite — warm, attentive, and just lovely to chat with. You can feel the pride they have in what they're serving, and it shows in every forkful — and in the restaurant itself, which was spotlessly clean and beautifully kept from front to back. If you're passing through Johnson City, do yourself a favor and pull over. Budare is the kind of place you tell everyone about on the way home — which is exactly what we're doing!

  We went for dinner tonight and we have never had this kind of food before, me and my husband wanted something new to eat for our anniversary and we were very satisfied with the food, atmosphere, and the wonderful communication! Thank you very much for the great experience and the great conversation! The sampler was amazing and also the Tres Leches was amazing as well! I also loved the Peach Juice! We will definitely be back and highly recommend!
