Huey’s has been bringing Blues, Brews, & Burgers in Memphis since 1970. Perhaps the most unique characteristics of our locations are the graffiti walls, hometown feel and local live music. Our World Famous Huey burgers have been voted Best Burger in Memphis since 1984. Sundays at Huey’s are traditionally known for live music, including jazz, blues and even a little rock from local and regional groups. At the example of the late Thomas Boggs, Huey’s former owner, giving back to the community is one of our top priorities. The catfish ($16) is made from frozen fish — a questionable choice for the south where catfish are plentiful. The french fries taste like they're frozen too; nothing else explains their flaccid, flavorless state. The serving size is absurdly small (five fries is not a side dish), and the upcharges are hard to justify: $3.50 for potatoes, $4.50 for onions — ingredients that cost next to nothing — especially when onion rings work out to $1 each. I genuinely don't understand why anyone would want to eat here. There are numerous better options (better food AND lower prices), or you could just cook at home with fresh (non-dodgy) meat and fish and real potatoes.
