I have been shopping at Food Lion for years and I love it so much I recommend it to anybody. I’m not exaggerating when I say this is my favorite grocery store and I go so often I recognize the employees and vice versa. Now, imagine my surprise when I’m walking out this evening and I see a lady molly whopping a young boy she had trapped inside of her cart and cornered between the flowers shelving outside. Keep in mind, she had repeatedly screamed and beat him inside of the store several times. But y’all… this woman was beating this child (8yr boy if I had to guess) in the head and face so hard when I came outside I almost called the police until I remembered how even further damaging and futile it’d probably be. Thinking about how beastly she acted in public I just can’t even comprehend how horrible it must be in private. I know times are hard on everybody but as an adult, straight up taking your anger out on a child is just vile. I watched to see if she would do it again but an employee came out then I drove away. I was going to just mind my business until I saw her leg tattoos and recognized her as an employee… beating a child, in the face, in public. This woman truly embodied the saying “every child deserves a parent but not every parent deserves a child”. I sincerely hope Food Lion resolves this issue in a way that gets that lady and her son the help they both clearly need. I love this place so much but that was one of the worst things I’ve ever seen in public. Shame on her.

The cashier sneezed on my money and hopefully I dont get sick. "Far from great" is the google review term for gross, one-star minimum.

Best produce on this side of town, and good selection throughout the store. I might occasionally have to shop elsewhere for less common ingredients, but not often. Significantly less expensive than the other full-size grocery stores. I just wish they would open a location closer to my house
