  I’ve liked Papa John’s pizza for years, but this experience made me seriously question ordering from this location again. I placed an online order and called the store less than 30 seconds later with one simple request: please put the pepperoni on top of the cheese so it would get crispy. The employee found my order, confirmed the request, and I thought everything was handled. A few minutes later, the store called me back specifically to tell me they would not make it that way. What followed was a surprisingly long and frustrating conversation involving multiple employees/managers over something as trivial as whether pepperoni could go on top of the cheese. I was told it had to go underneath for “quality purposes,” that exceptions might sometimes be made if I were physically standing in the store, and eventually that the pizza had already been made—even though I had called almost immediately after ordering. The part that bothered me most was not the pepperoni itself. It was the attitude toward a reasonable customer preference. I wasn’t asking for a refund, free food, unusual ingredients, or anything difficult. I was asking them to assemble my pizza slightly differently using the exact same ingredients. Instead of simply accommodating the request, the store escalated it into a dispute and ultimately made the pizza the way they wanted rather than the way I had specifically requested. My wife was already on her way to pick up dinner, so canceling the entire order was hardly a useful solution. I spent $43.41 on two pizzas and sides. I expect a restaurant to care how the customer actually wants the food prepared when the request is this simple. If you like your pizza exactly the way Papa John’s standard process dictates, you may never have a problem here. But if you have a reasonable preparation preference, my experience suggests you should not assume this location will accommodate it—even if you call immediately and they initially tell you they will. That is what makes me hesitant to order here again. I don’t want ordering dinner to turn into a confrontation over something that should have taken five seconds to resolve.

  We ordered from the app the other day for delivery, the driver was friendly but the pizzas we ordered looked like they were slung around in his truck and were wrong. I called and spoke to the manager he gave us a credit for the pizzas. Tonight we wanted to use that credit to have the pizzas delivered again. Was told we had to pay the delivery fee again a little over $6. I just don't understand if I paid for the original order plus that delivery fee and the messed up my order that they delivered then why would I have to repay the delivery fee again to get it corrected. Never had issues with a papa johns til we moved to Cleveland. If I could give zero stars I would.
