At Edley’s Bar-b-que we treat everyone who walks through the door like an old family friend. We pride ourselves with not taking any shortcuts in the kitchen. Our meats are smoked low and slow using Southern white oak. The sides are made from scratch daily with the same amount of attention. Everything is done with intention, from the food to the service to the music. We strive to serve the best food we can make and prove ourselves a worthy host—one plate at a time. Guest favorites include our brisket, macaroni and cheese, banana pudding, and our famous boozy milkshake, the Bushwacker. We are open lunch and dinner with a full-bar, and we offer catering for weddings, rehearsal dinners, corporate lunches, family reunions, and more.
We are visiting Chattanooga to celebrate our 9th anniversary and had a taste for some good BBQ while we were in town. After looking up a few places, we decided to give Edley’s BBQ a try and I’m so glad we did!
I’ll admit, when I first walked in, I was a little concerned because I didn’t see anyone who looked like me besides the employees 😂 But little did I know, we were absolutely in the right place!
After taking a few minutes to figure out what we wanted (because everything sounded good), we placed our order and were even offered free banana pudding since it was our first visit. Such a nice touch and it was delicious!
Honestly, everything on my plate was GOOD. The portions were generous, the ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, the collard greens were seasoned perfectly, and the jalapeño cornbread was such a nice surprise.
And the brisket?! My husband was literally scraping his plate like more brisket was going to magically appear. 😂 That alone should tell you everything you need to know.
Great food, great portions, and a great first experience. We would absolutely come back the next time we’re in Chattanooga!

Hands down some of the best bbq I’ve ever had. Pulled pork melts in your mouth. Tangy slaw, and potato salad amazing.
Kid taking orders recommended the white bbq wings to my Boyfriend and they were so good. Good atmosphere, self seating, indoor and outdoor options

Food is fantastic but servers have a terrible attitude. They forgot a portion of our parties food and slammed it on the table after again bringing the wrong thing, even after giving her the receipt they got it wrong again, and again when being SUPER nice about it, slammed it on the table again. I get it's frustrating but we were more than nice about it and it was unnecessary. I've been here 10 plus times and every time there's some weird experience with someone working here. I think I'll stick to Pucketts.

Chattanooga location. Weird version of BBQ. The potato salad was the best item I ordered.
The pulled pork was lukewarm and had a strange flavor as if it was freezer burned. I think the metal plates are cooling off the food too quickly as well. The cornbread was overly sweet and cakey...but spicy with peppers and the beans had a strange set of spices almost like cinnamon or allspice...
This seems more like a Michigan, Wisconsin, or Ohio corporate version of what a CEO believes southern BBQ should be. I assume with the amount of locations they have that they're losing a personal touch on the food quality. The service was great the dining experience was fine ....it's just that the food wasn't good. Nothing resembling real southern BBQ. I'm a local and have had a lot of BBQ. This ain't it.

As someone who will happily drive out of the way for great barbecue, I don’t hand out compliments lightly. This was my first visit to Edley’s Bar-B-Que in Chattanooga, and it absolutely lived up to the hype.
The recommendation came from one of my best friends who shares my passion for both cooking and eating exceptional BBQ. He was right. This is easily Top 3 barbecue for me, right alongside the original Fox Bros. BBQ in Atlanta and Southern Soul BBQ on St. Simons Island.
I ordered the brisket, and it was outstanding. Perfect bark, incredible smoke flavor, tender without falling apart, and packed with flavor in every bite. The mac & cheese, grits casserole, and cornbread were all fantastic too, but the brisket was the undeniable star of the meal.
One tip: If it’s your first visit, let them know. You’ll get a free banana pudding, and it’s absolutely top tier. Edley’s frequently offers first-time guests a complimentary banana pudding, and it’s worth every bite.
Great food is one thing. Great people make you want to come back. The staff was incredibly welcoming, and the hospitality matched the quality of the food.
If you’re a true barbecue lover, Edley’s is a must-visit. It has officially earned a spot among my all-time favorites, and I’ll be back every time I’m anywhere near Chattanooga. 🔥🥩🍌🍮
