Let me start by saying we will go back in spite of some small problems, and I do recommend coming here for a good, affordable meal, especially if you have kids. Just plan on asking for what you need instead of having your needs anticipated because the waitstaff is so overwhelmed.
When we walked in there were no staff anywhere in sight, and no highly visible signs that said “seat yourself” or “wait to be seated.” After waiting a while, we just picked a table, and after a few more minutes I went to the counter and raised my voice to say “excuse me” toward where I could hear people talking in the kitchen area. A waitress came running, panicked, out from the back of the dining room. She apologized, took our drink order and told us how the buffet worked.
We liked the pizza quite a lot: thin crust with a good flavor, nice sauce, good toppings. Much better than the other local pizza places within a 10-min drive. They were quick to make requested pizzas. Every one we had, including the desserts, was tasty.
Like a lot of other reviewers experienced, the salad bar was picked over (I just asked for it to be restocked and it took less than 5 min), and had we wanted pasta, we would have needed to ask for that to be replaced too, as it was dried out and had been untouched for a long while. We didn’t want pasta, so it wasn’t a problem for us.
The iced tea tasted like chlorine.
The restaurant was clean. The waitress was as attentive as she could be to all of the tables (7 or 8 when we were there), and very friendly.
There should not be only one person expected to wait on and bus all tables while also restocking the salad bar. The waitress also had to get the attention of the people in the back when someone was waiting to pay.
If they get an instruction sign at the front and fix their staffing balance, it would be an excellent spot instead of just ok.
