I normally don’t leave negative reviews, but today’s experience was frustrating enough that I feel it’s worth mentioning. I ordered a cheeseburger and a small Coke and used my rewards for a free medium fry. The employee repeated my order back to me, so I had no reason to believe anything was entered incorrectly. There was also confusion at the payment window after I specifically told the employee I was using Apple Pay. He closed the window, came back, and had forgotten. When I received my order, I noticed I had been charged for a small fry in addition to the medium fry I redeemed with my points. I explained that this was not what I ordered and that I was perfectly willing to pay for what I actually ordered. The manager came out to address the situation, which I appreciated, but the way the conversation was handled was disappointing. I was told that I was “supposed to confirm my order,” which I understand. However, when I tried to explain what had happened from my side, the employee repeatedly interrupted me and wouldn’t let me speak. I’m an adult customer explaining a legitimate issue—not a child being reprimanded. I also think the management team should consider having the manager on duty wear a headset during the drive-thru. If management is able to hear the orders being taken, they can catch misunderstandings or incorrect orders in real time and correct the employee before the customer gets to the window. That would probably prevent a lot of these situations from happening in the first place. Mistakes happen. I’m much more understanding of an incorrect order than I am of being talked over or made to feel like I’m being scolded for someone else’s mistake. A simple “I’m sorry, let’s get your order corrected” would have gone a long way. Hopefully management can remind the staff that customer service is about listening as well as taking orders. Sometimes the order isn’t the only thing that needs correcting. *also note this happened after lunch rush not busy. and it’s really disappointing bc this is my home mcdonald’s the one i go to frequently. not sure what’s up their asses today but that wasn’t cool. i didn’t expect for that to go that way at all.
