Ordered the avocado toast with fried egg for carry out..ab-so-lutely delicious!!
Homecookin' at its best! This girl is NEW to grits, so the grit sampler was on-point! Shrimp & grits - WOW! Service was excellent & even met the chef! We have been back several times since and the breakfast burrito & omletts have been equally great! Such an awesome small-town vibe with the best breakfast selection.

Friendly staff. The food was subpar at best. The hash browns were beyond disgusting. Sobbed in oil, old grease, yuck. The biscuits and gravy were equally gross. The gravy tasted like it came from a can of condensed cream of chicken soup. The omelet I had was way overdone. The pancakes were as thin as paper and they were burnt and they were not fluffy, they were disgusting as well. Everything was just really gross. The orange juice I had, tasted like it came from the bottom of the barrel of orange juice. And when the waitress came back, she said they didn't have any more orange juice. So i'm guessing my theory is correct. The the service was unbelievably slow. When we got there, the place was full, and we sat down and by the time we got our breakfast. Everybody was gone and we still had not been served yet. I had to ask the waitress if they had forgotten about us. I was going to post pictures but I don't see an option to post pictures here.

Me and my friends had seen this place asking for extra help during the construction going on in the area. As someone who loves to eat and shop local we all knew we HAD to go and support!
I want to start off with the good. The staff was funny and helpful. Service was quick and efficient. Especially for a place that only has so many staff! That was amazing! The atmosphere was adorable. The little school building. The local art. It really felt family oriented and community centered. Which I also love to see.
Unfortunately they lost me with the food. I probably wanted to get the crab cake Benedict. Although I was informed it was IMATATION CRAB!? We are blessed to be in seafood heaven. Why are we utalizing imitation crab? Anyway I understood times were tough so I chose the chicken fried steak instead! One of my other favorites to get in the area.
Again starting with the good once it came out they cooked my egg beautifully. Exactly how over medium should be done! Loved it! The pasta salad was fresh and pretty good as well!
The gravy was very unique. It was a little runny and had chunks of sausage. I don't care how it looks as long as it tastes good. But unfortunately it did not live up to my sawmill gravey. My rule of thumb is if cracker berrals is better than I'm prolly gonna be disappointed. Then when cutting into my steak the crispy outside was extremely soggy. And my steak was not like a tender soft. But a mushy soft. Followed my my has browns feeling dry and a little to crispy for my taste.
My southern born and raised bestie said their grits were pretty darn good which is great because they do have grits in the name!
I'm not sure if I had just gotten something that they don't specialize in or cook all that often. But it really was disappointing. I really wanted to add this place to our new brunch spots. But unfortunately I left feeling a little uneasy about the food.
I hope this place continues to succeed although some small attention to dishes and adjustments may go a long way!

Grits & Griddle is such a great breakfast spot! The food is absolutely delicious, especially the fluffy pancakes and top-notch grits. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the cozy atmosphere makes you feel right at home. On top of that, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Definitely a place worth visiting if you’re looking for a delicious breakfast!
