★★★★★ We had a wonderful breakfast at Southern Sunrise Pancake House! My military hubby ordered the classic cream chipped beef, which was exactly the kind of old-school comfort breakfast he loves. I had the veggie skillet, and it was perfect for anyone who loves plenty of cheese and fresh vegetables. Our waitress was very nice, attentive, and efficient, and everything came out just as it should. The food was delicious, portions were satisfying, and the prices were very reasonable. Great breakfast, friendly service, and excellent value. We will definitely be back!

Sam and I have eaten at Southern Sunrise Pancake House many times before, but after what we witnessed today, we will not be returning. While we were eating, I overheard a grown man and two grown women laughing and talking about the “short bus” and making fun of children with disabilities. They were also making jokes about children who wear helmets and hit their heads on things. At one point, the child with them, who appeared to be around 10 years old, fell onto the floor and pretended to have a seizure while the adults were laughing. What made this especially disturbing was that a young adult with cerebral palsy was sitting with his family approximately 10 feet away. He was in a wheelchair and his family was helping feed him while these conversations were taking place. I initially asked to move tables because I did not want to listen to it anymore. While we were moving, I asked our waitress whether the man making the comments worked there. She told me he was the owner. He was wearing the restaurant shirt and was on duty. I decided to tell him how I felt. After we moved tables, he came over to us again. He apologized and said that he has a “big mouth” and that he needed to not say things like that in public. He did not even look at Sam while speaking to us. He then said our lunch would be taken care of. I told the waitress that I wanted to pay for our lunch. She told me it was already taken care of. I told her that man wasn’t buying anything for us. I wanted to pay for our own meal because I was not looking for a free meal or compensation. I simply wanted him to understand why his behavior was unacceptable. Our waitress was very nice, and I want to make that clear. My issue is not with her. The owner later apologized, and I appreciate that he apologized. But saying that he needs to “watch what he says in public” isn’t really the point. People with disabilities deserve respect whether they are within earshot or not. Disability is not a punchline. Children with disabilities are not jokes. People who use wheelchairs, helmets, or other supports are not entertainment. I am sharing my firsthand experience because customers deserve to know what I personally witnessed when deciding where to spend their money. Sam and I will be choosing another restaurant from now on.

We had such a wonderful breakfast at Southern Sunrise Pancake House! ❤️ We tried the waffles, French toast, veggie Benedict, and Spanish omelette, and everything was delicious and freshly prepared with love and care. What really made our visit special was how warm and welcoming everyone was. The people were genuinely friendly, kind, and attentive, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. It’s always special to find a place with wonderful food and even more wonderful people. We left with full hearts and happy tummies, and we’ll definitely be coming back. ☀️🥞❤️
