  Surprised by the very high buffet price for breakfast. $19 when all other locations are $17 and under with good menu options on the buffet. Employee was super nice but I can not justify paying that much for breakfast. Restaurant was open for an hour with no one inside.

  We only came here for the nostalgia. The scrambled eggs and mushrooms hit like they used to. The rest is ok. If you've ever been to a breakfast buffet you're not going to be overwhelmed or disappointed. We don't have a shoney's in KC so it hit the spot

  I was very disappointed with my experience at this Shoney’s. It is nothing like the other Shoney’s locations I’ve visited. The quality of the food was far below what I expected. I got the rice with sausage, which is one of my favorite items, but there was barely any sausage in it. I also had the biscuits and gravy, which normally it's full of sausage in the gravy, but this time it was missing as well. The food tasted bland, looked poorly prepared, and seemed like it had been sitting out for a while. I hope management takes the time to improve the food quality, freshness, and overall standards so future customers have a much better experience. It's no surprise the restaurant was nearly empty during my visit. I expected much better from a Shoney’s. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I won’t be returning.

  A little noisy. A little pricer than I expected for the buffet. Waitress was very attentive and had a great smile. She informed us that they do special orders for eggs any style because only scrambled were on the buffet. My boyfriend said his favorite was over easy but he was fine with what was on the bar. Our waitress brought him 3 eggs over easy because he had said they were his favorite. That shows she is a waitress that wants to please her customers.

  Our experience at Shoney’s this morning was not awesome from the moment we walked in. We came in with four children, ages 8, 6, 3, and 1, and stood at the entrance for around a few minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Managing four young children while being completely ignored was already a frustrating way to start the meal. Once we were seated, we quickly realized the breakfast bar was extremely limited. Most of what was available was salad, fruit, eggs, and sausage. The bacon and chicken tenders were the only items our family really enjoyed, but they were rarely stocked and the trays were empty almost every time we checked. Because there were so few options, the kids struggled to find anything they actually wanted to eat. They barely ate, never felt full, and the entire meal became miserable because they were unhappy and still hungry. Paying buffet prices for children who could hardly find anything enjoyable was extremely disappointing. Our server only came by about twice and was not very informative, attentive, or helpful. Everyone ended up drinking water, and there was very little effort made to check on us or improve the experience. What made the price even more frustrating was that we had eaten at Golden Corral the day before for almost exactly half the cost. Golden Corral had at least three times the amount of food options, everyone was able to get the drink they wanted, and the entire family left full and satisfied. At Shoney’s, we could have ordered individual meals, spent less money, had more variety, and maybe actually enjoyed our breakfast but were never given the option. Instead, we spent more money and left with disappointed adults and unhappy children that were still hungry. This experience was absolutely not worth the price, and we will not be returning.
